The T6.1 – more modern, more innovative and safer
The new T6.1 represents a well thought-out vehicle concept of the four basic models: Multivan, Caravelle, Transporter and California. This generation consistently continues proven strengths and sets new standards in this class with state-of-the-art infotainment, driver assistance and safety systems. Visually, a new front end with a significantly larger radiator grille and new bumper make the T6.1 look somewhat sturdier. The rear end has been given newly designed tail lights, which are also available in LED technology. In the interior, the dash panel has been reworked. New features are the ergonomic design of the controls and the design of the easily accessible storage facilities. Furthermore, the T6.1 has an optional digital cockpit, Volkswagen's MIB3 infotainment system with Discover-Media audio navigation system with 8 and 9.2-inch touchscreen and Connected Infotainment.
Thanks to the changeover of the electrical system structure based on the electrics of the modular transverse matrix (MQB) and the use of electromechanical steering, even more modern safety assistance systems are now available for all model series.
The T6.1 has a proven driveline concept. The 2.0 l TDI engines with an output of 66 kW, 81 kW, 110 kW and 146 kW all meet the Euro 6 emission standard.
