Did you have any rubbing or spaces Stu? I really like the look of 245's, but worried about the size difference and 235 might be a safer option.
Would it be a better option not in KO2's, and something less aggressive?
...My question is, after the standard 235/55/17, what is the next size larger from these that most people run?
I don’t want to go as big as 245/65/17 for scrubbing and odometer reasons, so is there a common size between these 2?

Thanks for the reply :) I've gone from 205/65/16 on basic steels to 245/65/17 alloys - I put t6 in the shop website I bought them from and this size is what came up- will see how it goes. May end up going down in side wall size but time will tell!
Yes, no catching anywhere. There is a bit more road noise from the BFGs but its not excessive. Mine are ET12 and fit flush with the wheel arch. Considering a bit of a lift to counter the weight of the conversion but probably only about 30mm
Collection only from Bromborough, Wirral or can meet locally.
1 of 17” OZ Rally Raid with 245/65/17” BFG Tail Terrain tyre- done about 500 miles, it’s had a tyre repair in the centre of the tyre - £300
2000w Renogy Inverter - £70 - bought from @Dellmassive but never used

Many thanks @vegt - I really appreciate you taking the time to explain. All makes sense but I’ve never contemplated before so really helpful as were the pointers to other threads.
How did you correct the speedo?
I have 245/65R17 AT tyres, and keep getting Front Assist Not Available errors constantly (as well as Speedo not reading correctly). Did you DIY or take it somewhere - if so, what was the cost?
Hi, I changed the variant to sort the speedo out on my 6.1 when I put 245/65 r17 BFG A/T's on, I ended up on variant 8 before the speedo was correct.
However...... I have since changed to Cooper Discoverer ATT 225/65 R17 (found the BFG's too heavy and braking wasn't great when fully loaded) and...
Just decided to add my 5p, i lifted the back 30mm with eibacher springs as van is full camper conversion so was sitting low. Tyres are 245/65/17 no rubbing or any other issues.
Spare dimension is a conundrum for me as I hope to order Rally Raids as soon as I get a quote - apparently black rims now available in Italy from early this month. This week I came across a fellow with a T6 4 motion who said he has fitted 225 65 R17 BFG in the spare location (34 mm larger than...
...T30.
Wheels are 17 inch Fuel Coverts - sorry don't know the width as Van Haven supplied them as part of the conversion.
Tyres are BFG AT2 K02 245/65/17 111/108S
Very pleased with the full package. Tyres 'thrum' a bit at 40 but quieten down completely at motorway speed.
Early days on MPG but...
So I have some 7" wide 17" VW wheels with ET55, These are just in being powder coated ready for some big ole tyres.
I have gone for 245/65/17 BFG KO2 tyres.
I am thinking about adding some 25mm spacers front and rear. Would I be daft in doing this or is this something I should 100% be doing?
Hi all fairly new to the VW crowd coming from a pickup. Mines a LWB 4MO working van for wind and solar farm work so does plenty of motorway miles between sites but needs to be able to earn its keep on and off tracks around the sites.
Just picked these up, Cooper AT3 on a recently power coated...
