Hello again
If I fit swivel bases to the front seats on my new VW T6.1 Kombi (yet to see it as it’s away at LV being kitted up) will that make the seats sit a lot higher for regular driving?
Do you also lose the manual heightadjustment?
Thanks
Not quite a million times, but nevertheless quite frequently.
The search function is very useful.

Hi all firstly never had chance to say thank you for letting me join the Forum.
I am now a proud owner of a t6.1 in pure grey and have spent the last few night looking at the pages to answer most of my questions
So now for the dilemma I really want to put a swivel base on both my drivers seat...
I have Kiravans single swivels. They do raise the height but my Shuttle has adjustable seat height so I can compensate some, though it does move up and forward or down and back which can be annoying if you want up but not forward. They have nylon stops a bit like an hour glad in shape which...
Are you saying the seat cupra seats fit in the existing VW bases without modifications? If so then you should be able to use any swivel since the dimensions will be the same.
I’m happy with my sportscraft swivel. Keep in mind that adding a swivel can require lowering the handbrake lever mount...
Tiguan ErgoComfort seats. Drivers seat has height and rake adjustment, extending front base and massage function. Both heated and on swivel bases. Both have trays on the back and passenger seat folds flat.
Thanks @Deaky for the confirmation and options, much appreciated. I'll probably get the height adjustable base, plastics and keep my self entertained for an hour - would think that I could cover majority of cost with sale of OEM swivel base.
Does anyone have a T6.1 Drivers Captain Seat that would like to exchange for Factory Swivel Captains Seat, new Highline van , 2k miles, just sits too high for me so will forfeit the swivel for a height adjustable alternative,
Hi All,
First post - go easy! I’ve bought T6 conversion (formerly a shuttle) and have a question about front seat heightadjustment. We have 2 captains chair type seats (saying that as they have a single outside arm not both sides - does this seat type have a different name or is it still...
Yeah LWB has been discounted...
I had wondered about the factory swivel being a guy with short legs I wondered what the ride comfort might be like with no heightadjustment
Not had first-hand experience, but I believe you lose the ability to adjust the seat-height with factory swivels (sure someone on here will correct me if I'm wrong). If that's something you want/need, there are aftermarket swivels available that allow heightadjustment.
Thanks.
I just don't like how high the seats are with aftermarket swivels, and I don't want to get lower seat bases as it means I cant get a leisure battery under there in the future. Plus another swivel (I have 1 already) and two lower bases will be around the £500 mark so I guess its a no...
Have you considered or discounted a LWB?
Also, I was warned-off the factory swivel seats by my convertor. It's been well over a year since that conversation, so my recollection is a little hazy, but IIRC, the reason was because the factory swivels don't have heightadjustment (whereas...
