Hi all,
Iv recently purchased a 2018 T6 2.0 and noticed the fan speed only works on setting 4. Iv done some research on here and understand it to be caused by the heater blower resistor?
Does anybody know of the correct replacement and where I could get one? Iv looked on eBay but there...
Just purchased and replaced for the third time the fan blower resistor. This from new on a 2018 T30 LWB 150 DSG. Why can't VW put in a decent bit of kit!
Hi there Guys , I have a 2016 T6 , with the same problem , the fan only works on setting 4 and nothing else . Would my 2016 T6 use the same resistor ? Is this easy to fit or do you have to take out half the dashboard ? Where is it located etc ? Any help gratefully received
I've fitted a couple of CR65 fridges that are tight against the insulation at the rear and have fitted a ventilation grill in the side panel by the fan and an additional 12v computer fan located in the opposite side panel. I.e. no air circulation around the fridge at all, just across the top...
Did the fix for when the dashboard heater fan will only run at full speed, ordered a new resistor thing which arrived yesterday then spent this afternoon working my way under the glovebox to dig out the old unit and replace it with new. Heater fan now works perfectly.
You're better off replacing the lot with a PWM controller, something like this:

I made an initial attempt at this a while ago but overcomplicated things by putting the unit in the same place as the resistor pack goes to cool the heat sink which required me to...
That will most possibly be the blower fanresistor.....
A common fault that's an easy fix.

Both buttons, my advice is to not use fan setting #1 or you’ll have a different issue with a blown resistor, use setting #2 as the minimum.
If the car steams up you’ll need to refresh the air from outside by switching off the re-circ’ button.
If you are de-misting the windscreen re-circ’ isn’t...
That's quite a lot more than a couple of grain of wheat lamps added to trigger trailer detection, but it is plug and play and will show some faults (so long as you check it)
The fan intrigues me, it suggests they are simply using load resistors to draw the same current as a normal lamp and then...
My 2018 kombi had its resistor changed under extended warranty march 22. Failed again November 22. I swapped out two more resistors, until March 23. It then went into the dealer and had a new fan motor and resistor pack fitted under extended warranty.
So if you change the resistor pack, it could...
Hello all and thanks in advance if anyone knows how to fix my issue. I have a 2016 T6 which has a problem with the heater/fans. The main issue is that there is now fan/blow on number 1,2, or 3, but number 4 works fine. This is a pain coming into the warmer weather as I can't just have the...
Hi, hope someone can offer some words of wisdom. Long time forum lurker and researcher.
I believe I’ve read the thread(s)and watched the videos on this, but I’m none the wiser.
My blowers stopped working in my 2017 t6. I went ahead and replaced the 40a maxi fuse.
As experienced by many, once...
Thanks for the response, but that's not what I'm looking for right now. I want to use the fan that's already under the dash. The only thing needed to be done is to hook it up to the leisure battery probably with a PWM motor controller, so I don't waste energy in heating up resistors.
Both valid points. The problem with replacing the thermal fuses is that you need a spot solder rather than a heat solder. A normal soldering iron tip is about 380-420 degrees C and requires prolonged contact with the metals to ensure the tin flows in and makes a good contact. If that heat...
