...very lumpy.
Plugged it in again, now reading 16114 Fuel rail/system too low.
I had a EGR valve fitted about a month ago due to losingcoolant, guessing no connection?
Anyone had anything similar or have any thoughts as to what it could be?
I’ve read a bit about the high pressure fuel pump...
I hope it's okay to tag onto this existing thread.
I'm losingcoolant, 700ml in 550 miles.
I've pressure tested the air charger, it lost 26mbar in 45 mins. It had a very thin oil film with small drops of water in it, when wiping a gloved finger inside it. I guess this could be condensation from...
...as DMF so he had this done a few months ago but again made no difference. I've heard of rods being bent by hydrolocking, i'm not losingcoolant, however i do not know when it was an RAC van if it had issues and the EGR cooler replaced. it looks original to me and no obvious signs it's been...
Is there any reason why you would change the charge cooler at the same time as EGR cooler or would it be sensible to do the EGR first then see if it’s still losingcoolant? Also if the EGR cooler is being replaced is it a good idea to do the EGR valve at the same time? @mmi @Dellmassive @Loz @Pauly
Absolutely, I spent most of the day in correspondence trying to point out that losingcoolant is a known issue that can cause serious damage, but he absolutely would not accept there was anything wrong with the van and the Vw specialist report was just trying to ‘upsell’ as he called it...
I’ve been having problems with my van losingcoolant for the last year and I’ve popped up on numerous threads when other people have reported issues, so time to start my own thread.
My van has got 120k miles on the clock, I had the EGR swapped earlier this year and the leak got better but...
Maybe your scanner doesnt have the necessary interface to read DPF data.
Do you notice power loss throughout all gears? Do you know when your van is doing a regen? i.e faster idle, high engine oil temp, fans running.. when the revs drop back down to 800rpm, is it normal to drive again?
Hi all. Still trying to get to the bottom of this problem where I lose power every now and then. It’s not done it for 3 months but just started again in the last 2-3 days.
Few points I need advice on:
- My diagnostics tells me I have a low voltage somewhere but won’t tell me where.
- Drove to...
...T6's with DAUA engine so posting here for better visibility.
I have a suspected EGR cooler or water-to-air intercooler failure as i'm losingcoolant slowly. I just had the intercooler off to vacuum test the coolant side of it to rule that out as the issue before ordering an EGR cooler (it...
As @roadtripper mentioned above it sounds like you stopped during a DPF regeneration. Carista Beta will show when the last re-gen was carried out, plus many other useful functions. An engine coolant system temperature will briefly rise just after shutdown as the airflow over the radiators is...
...the plan was monitor after the expansion tank cap replaced. Since then, nearly 900 miles later and I'm sad to say it does appear to be losingcoolant still. Maybe around 200 or 300ml. No sign of wet coolant under the tank anymore since cap was replaced though. But perhaps it's being lost...
Hi All,
Any advice appreciated. Please see 2 attached photos. These are of the top of the EGR front pipe of my 2018 36k mile T6.
I cleaned the area prior to a 500 mile journey after noticing a small amount of dark, tar like build up on this joint that's been there I'm pretty sure since I...
...rubbish. Get a knowledgeable technician to undertake a sequence of tests to determine why residual pressure exists. You mention still losingcoolant which could point towards a head gasket but that would show contamination in the coolant. I would start by releasing the pressure from cold...
...head has a small pathway to the coolant circuit but the dealer thinks otherwise. Main symptom is coolant under pressure when cold. Was losingcoolant and has had the egr replaced but it is still losingcoolant and is still under pressure. Garage claims residual pressure is nothing to worry...
I’ll be interested to see what pops up on this thread. My van has a slow coolant leak, most recent EGR was replaced 3000 miles ago which seemed to sort it but I’ve noticed the level dropping again.
200ml in 250 miles sounds like quite a lot, sometimes my van would lose that much and then go...
...useful over the years, finally time to get involved!
We have a 2018 204 DSG 4Motion Kombi in our workshop at the moment that is losingcoolant. I've read a few threads on T6s with this issue and once a physical leak is ruled out, the two main protagonists seems to be either an issue with the...
Not a bad idea, I mean even if it has a different fault it might be something!
I also looked back through my logs, back earlier in Jan and December I had these, ‘short circuit to ground’, ‘short circuit to b+’ and supply voltage.
I haven’t seen those for a while.
Could have indicated a bad...
Nothing to worry about if you're not losingcoolant, have a read through some of these threads which should put your mind at rest;

I’m interested what you find with this. My 150 also loses coolant occasionally. Over summer it got quite bad losing a reservoir of coolant in about 200 miles but when pressure tested it lost virtually nothing after 24 hours. I got the EGR cooler changed as it’s a culprit in lots of coolant loss...
...There were reported no external leaks so its going somewhere inside. Ironically. Since that time and what VW reported it has stopped losingcoolant, I have given it some test runs of at least 200 miles too.
They didn't suggest anything other than they would have to stir the head to...
