Bought a few weeks ago - works absolutely amazing, but T6 now sold so not needed.
This fantastic little box converts your ‘wired’ Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to a wireless system. Plug it into the media wired USB port and it automatically connects to your phone for full use (as if it’s...
A proper apple cable helped but it was still sketchy. In the end I replaced it with a kenwood head unit with wirelesscarplay! And then more recently sold the T6! Sorry it's not a cheap fix.
...have a detachable cable so that I can swap it with a shorter one. It sits on top of Syncwire Magnetic Phone Car Mount.
For wirelessCarplay, I modified RCD330 to have a rear USB and I have connected Carlinkit 4.0 to it. Carlinkit sits next to the fuse box. Initially, I planned to wire a USB...
Hi all, only my second post... I am picking up a 2019 T6 camper conversion tomorrow - it's a Highline spec but I don't think that it has Apple Carplay... what are my options to have this feature and are there any recommendations? I am not really fussed whether it is wired or wireless.
Thanks
Great work @zaibs !
How is the Carlinkit 4.0 working so far?
I struggle to find reviews about any wirelessCarPlay adapter that doesn’t stop working properly after just a few months :-/
Our OEM head unit gave up at the start of the year and we had it replaced with a Kenwood DMX8020 as recommended on the forum.
Mostly the head unit is great however the GPS accuracy is terrible when using CarPlaywirelessly. We originally thought it needed some time to sort itself out however it...
Did anyone solve anything here?
I have a Skoda Yeti (part of the VW group) and have installed a Kenwood 8021DABS. Within a few minutes it is tracking 20m off where I am on wirelesscarplay. Wired it is fine. My fitter said the antenna is just in the middle, above the actual unit.
Evening all,
Has anyone used one of these or seen them in action? Looking to get a wireless Android auto set up on the standard T6.1 head unit. The intention is to upgrade to a Halo 9 when the funds allow. Seen a few YT reviews and like that fact that turns the head unit into a mini PC near...
Kenwood dmx9720xds has the best screen on the market, super easy to use, wireless Apple CarPlay, android auto but it’s a bit chunky
Alpine halo 905/11 , not so easy to use , slightly harder to install, but better sounding, more powerful. And sits better on the dash
...that comes with a wired reversing camera. I’ve not fitted the camera yet so can’t comment on that but the unit is pretty good for wirelessCarPlay. The phone connects via the van Bluetooth so volume is controlled as normal but all the CarPlay stuff is done on the screen. I didn’t get on with...
...have a 2018 t6 and a few months ago I started having problems with the touch screen, they asked me for more than €1800 to replace it. I'd like to replace it with a larger one and with wirelesscarplay.
As equipment to recover I only have the rear camera, no sensors.
Do you have any ideas...
Picking up new (to me) caravelle tomorrow, does anyone know if this head unit has wirelesscarplay or just wired (image on screen suggests just wired).
Need to know if i'll be buying a carlinkit in the not too distant future
The toll booths are clearly using quite high levels of RF to reliably scan the tags, I suspect that it's on a frequency near either the WiFi or Bluetooth connection (both in play for CarPlay/AndroidAuto) and swamping it.
Different cars will have different locations for the antenna, phone, and...
Thanks - basically I can use everything fine - wirelesscarplay and charging via other ports/12v socket so overall happy with the unit. My point is that for a unit costing £1300 the fact it cant connect or charge via USB, as advertised, to the current iPhone model is a bit disappointing.
