I found the worst squeak source on mine yesterday - a grommet that the locking rod passes through had come out of its hole, leading to metal on metal. I poked it back into place and it is now quieter (but still a few more to track down). I will put some silicone spray on here so the rod doesn’t...
...sliding door, down the c pillar to fuse box. Then back up the c pillar, over the door and down to the switch, then up to the lights which are grommeted just above the passenger grab handle in the pop top frame.
If you have power under the front passenger seat you can skip the backwards and...
...from above by sliding my hand down the bulkhead and behind some foam/rubber insulation. I certainly didn’t access it from under the van. The grommet is below the top of that insulation so is hidden from view. Access might be slightly different on my van as it is a TSI, but I would have...
Do you know what, I actually debated doing just that but thought I would see if I could (or if anyone else had) locate the grommet that is in the 'destructions' first.
Still may take that route as I'm indecided as to what is worse, the elements or the extreme temperatures under the hood?
...though I do have some of the connector and cable harness that you have to splice into. But that hole is a PITA to find and access. I think that in my case, there were no other cables going through it, so it was filled with a solid grommet. The PF Jones harness comes with e replacement grommet.
If you remove the scuttle panel and route along there, the grommet there will bring your wires out right at the module. Just make sure you have the wires tied down out the way of the wiper linkage
This is my next job @dcpen43, I've read and read loads on here and it seems a pretty straightforward job adding the Mppt. I don't want mine to be permanent so intend to just have the connects so I can hook it up when needed.
Comprehensive step by step. The instructions provided are pretty poor. What I have found though with my Travelinlite power folding wing mirrors,is the mirrors vibrate and shake making the image fuzzy. Not too impressed
...as there really isn't much excess length of wire to follow too many contours!

DOOR WIRING:
a) Pop out the door grommets and plastic shroud as it will be easier to feed the cables through and refit afterwards.

You have to replace that plastic plug with a rubber grommet - I have posted on the size that fits. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133601823161
To insert the fuel line into the rubbers: knead the rubber with pliers to soften a little and use a drop of diesel or a light oil to lubricate.
Hi,
I have started to fit the heater and come across a couple of issues.
There is a big grommet under the drivers seat that I think is where the wires from the loom come into the van.
However it is actually quite hard and not stretchy rubber. I am wondering how, if I make a hole big enough to...
...After my first year I did remove my seat and battery and a few bits and check all connections and all places where cables went through grommets in metalwork and found it to be all ok.
I’ve recently changed some stuff around and now put everything in the proper plastic conduit which probably...
...the fridge (again it tripped, probably water from the sink not being sealed properly)
Carpet on roof not stuck properly
Missing plastic screw grommets, to access behind. (assuming more wires?)
When checked wires as mentioned above, looks as though there is no insulation.
Double Swivel...
Hi folks, I'm hoping someone can help with a quick delve into a closet/trailer or cupboard even...
The rubbery grommet/washer thing between the two 'halves' of the drivers wing mirror is missing, causing wobble of the mirror unit and an annoying rattle which struggles to be overcome by turning...
There’s so much info on here about this issue it’s worth time using the search function to have a read, but to summarise; some have had no problems with their panels whilst some have experienced failed units. Some believe the failed units are due to poor air circulation under the panel and...
