Hi all,
Just a quick one I'm not with my van at the moment but I've already blanked off the EGR gas pipes and thinking I'll bypass the coolant also just in case it wears through. Does anyone know the size of this blue connector piece? I'll grab one on the way home.
Also looking to add an oil...
...insufficient flow error came up a few weeks ago. cleared with CArista, and did not come back. May have gone on for another few thousand miles, but as the van is a keeper, did not want it causing any more related issues.
edit: the egrpipe cracked and was replaced on a service a year or two ago.
If you can smell exhaust gases under the bonnet or in the van there’s a problem.
The cracked EGRpipes on certain engines is well documented in the Forum, have a Search with ‘EGRpipe’
Suspension / wobbly drive would be my guess as well.
But check for split egrpipe although most report exhaust smell in the cab.
Heated windscreen was a pretty good guess as well, I don’t have one so don’t know how visible the grid is.
After having the rear EGRpipe replaced a few weeks ago everything had been fine. Van started & completed a regen earlier today, I had Carista plugged in and the P0401 message returned but showed as Pending. No engine warning light though…not sure why? As in is it normal to show on Carista...
Sorry to start another post but can’t find the answer I’m looking for.
When on boost/ under load my van has started to make a loud whistle. I have noticed for a while that it did have a bit of a hiss but on Sunday when going up hill with foot down the noise changed all of a sudden to a whistle...
It’s just mapped out and left in place. The blanking plates stop any exhaust gases leaking past the egr valve. The coolant still passes through. For MOT purposes it looks factory. Mine has passed a couple of MOTs since we put it to sleep.
I raised the health and safety issue direct with VW (0800 333666) and got nowhere with making the point that VW have clearly recognized the egr design fault because the replacement pipe is far sturdier. It seems that breathing in carbon monoxide etc because of the faulty original pipe is not...
The EGR valve is still fitted but I've removed and blanked the pipe before it, the one with the corrugated part at the back of the engine that normally cracks. The pipe itself was fairly clogged (but not cracked) and so was the valve from what I could see. The hissing was there before and after...
Hi
I've got a VW t6 102 and have a couple of issues. I recently had my egr replaced as it was blocked. since this work was carried out I have an engine fault for egr low flow. I've also noticed when I rev my engine and let the revs die off it makes a noise around the airfilter housing like a...
Had this fault come up last month and checked out by AA vw specialist, it's ran ok for 850miles and now back up.... obviously have searched and understand it's insufficient flow but took a pic of the values on his test and wondered if the readings give any indication that a flush may help..? Or...
