The mirrors on a T6 do not fold and unfold on locking. They fold on comfort lock (long press) and don't unfold until you put the ignition on. Sounds like you have aftermarket foldingmirrors. There will be a module somewhere, either in the door or under the dash which is controlling the...
Hello all.
2018 T6 Highline. Non-FoldingMirrors but heated glass + electric movement of the glass.
Offside works fine.
Nearside. All directions, up and right don't work and left or down equal left until there is no more travel in the motor.
Any ideas? I had similar in a car many years any...
Hi All, My T6.1 21 Reg highline based camper has the foldingdoor mirror function and it was working. But it’s just stopped?
Still works on the internal door rotary knob. But not on second press of keyfob as before. The vans only 2 months old.
Has anyone had this happen or know of a...
Not sure if they work like that from factory - my van went from factory to dealer to convertor before I even saw it, so the convertor may have done some VCDSing on my behalf. I've certainly not changed anything.
Yes, you can also use the twiddly knob on the driver's door to fold the mirrors...
Right, I've just recently bought the aforementioned kit to upgrade my current T6 heated mirrors to the power fold versions:
T6 15-20 Electric Power FoldingMirrors (upgrade kit)
I consider myself pretty handy but the instructions provided are pretty poor in my opinion. PDF Viewer...
Hi guys. Can anyone help with this. My lefthand door mirror doesn't always fold on request. If put switch back to retract, tap mirror then put switch to un fold it will work. Guessing the motor sticking. Can the motor be brought seperate or is this whole mirror
Hi Guys
My nearside sliding door doesn't lock (Offside sliding does ok) and my offside mirror doesn't fold either.
All I've done recently is replace the standard bulbs in the roof in the rear.
I think someone else in the forum had a similar problem when adding led lights too .
I'm wondering...
After recently stripping my mirrors down and fiddling with all this the cables all run through the centre hole of the folding mirror and have some tight bends on them and some ground connections. Do you fold the mirrors a lot? Maybe it's frayed? Either way it's a door card off job to get to it...
Hi all, I’ve had a look around the forum and suspect I have a bent drivers side mirror bracket/pivot/mount but wondered if anyone who’s stripped their wing mirror down would know if there is anything within the mirror assembly that might prevent the mirror sitting flush against the trim piece on...
Happy New Year all,
2015 Transporter / camper, I have a problem with both mirrors. The fold feature works, but not the adjustment or heating!!
Don't know if it is relevant, but I replaced a flat battery recently, cannot say if it was related.
Any thoughts?
fuse 20 was blown and have replaced...
You'll need electric foldingmirrors, door switch and window motors (these contain the control modules for the mirror motors)
Have a read through this thread

Anyone have any idea please
T6.1 Symptoms….
Passenger window fails to operate on either switch. If you leave drivers door window open and try to lock with remote the doors lock but the drivers window fails to shut. Also mirrors fail to spin up on lock. Also msg on startup on touchscreen...
Could someone with a standard ride height t6.1 or t6 van be so kind as to measure the height of their folded mirrors in the folded position (at the bottom edge and top edge).
I’ve roughly scaled off the VW technical drawing and reckon the lower edge is somewhere around 120cm and upper edge 155cm...
So I noticed that the lock and unlock buttons on the driver door don’t work, neither do the mirror fold or heated mirrors even with front screen on. Mirror adjustment does work and windows work fine with one touch up and down. I’ve reset the battery and reset the windows.
All plugs are...
J386 and J387, although called door control modules, are integrated with the window motors. These lumps at the front part of the doors:
The central lock units are separate and located at rear part of door - they operate the locks (duh) and the pin that comes up through the door cards.
So...
Do your windows work one touch (automatic open or close) from the window buttons - or just the hold down comfort close on the keyfob?
If not try resetting this, if the windows have lost that calibration then usually the mirrors will not fold...
I’m trying to work out what actually triggers and/or controls the latching mechanism on the side door of a 2014 factory Kombi?
Symptoms/problem: opening and closing the door is fine, however, if I drive over a bump or a rough surface road, I hear the latching mechanism momentarily activate...
Yeahs it's the OEM part numbers I'm looking for to price up the parts required
Folding mirror bases
Window motors (control modules)
And switch switch I can get easy enough
That thread is for non OEM mirrors.
If you haven’t sorted this, perhaps try the window switch as per this thread:
