Hi. Just fitted a new 95ah starterbattery after which the MFD is showing a Stop/Start error when switched on. Also Carista is showing Battery Monitor Module fault. Battery has been registered with the Carista. Any thoughts and is the van ok to drive? Thanks for your thoughts.
Hi I am new to the Campervan world have recently brought a Hillside Birchover and now have it in storage for the winter. The starterbattery voltage has now dropped to 12.2V so I am planning to charge the starterbattery. The VW manual is useless in its advice for charging the battery stating it...
As Salty Spuds says that will work fine. AMT near the CTEK with one cable to the positive from starterbattery, another positive to the CTEK output to the leisure battery and a negative (to the neg on the CTEK or nearby neg point). Leave and forget. No more flat starterbattery.

I'm after a little bit of advice/guidance if you don't mind?
I "think" my starterbattery is on the way out, as it appears to be getting worse at holding charge.
It's on a 150 DSG T6.1, on a '23 plate, but the van itself wasn't ordered by me, and I think was probably sat in the convertors for...
no, unless you get a gizmo that will trickle charge the starter, from the leisure battery.
or
you can use one charger to charge the starterbattery, to the point that it turns on your dc-dc charger to charge the leisure setup - but you need a large charger and its a faily waistful way of doing...
Hi,
Had a new starterbattery fitted by local garage.
Been on a few longish runs 70 miles round trip and 30 miles.
The control panel is still showing not full, do I need to do more miles or could it be something else?
Going back to the garage but they say not camper experts so may need to...
...and like you say it’s neatly next to to the ctek and leisure battery?
Not sure how all the boxes play together as the charger charges the leisure when EHU and then trickle the starterbattery. When the vehicle is running / no EHU the starter charges the leisure via the ctek 250 as it does now.
Starterbattery positive connects to the starterbattery - normally on the input side of your DC-DC charger - somewhere between the starterbattery positive and the DC-DC input terminal
Leisure battery positive connects to battery, or busbar or wherever your positive connections are -...
...find an answer, when camping, if I constantly go in and out of the van, sliding door lights come on etc I’m worried I’ll drain the starterbattery. Any tips or tricks? Is there a way to stop the sliding door step lights coming on or a way to switch them off? Leisure battery side of things all...
I did search but couldn’t find anything. This link talks about using the 250 to charge the starter but it only trick charges from solar which I don’t have. Are you suggesting either get solar or disconnecting my battery charger and connect directly to the starter leaving the 250 to pull from the...
That would mean another £100 for one plus running wires from the back of the van to the starter. Just thought there might be a cleaver way to do it off the one with some rewiring.
You can connect the charger to the starterbattery POS via a fuse. And the NEG to chassis.
Set the charger to AGM profile for the starterbattery.
Then when the starterbattery starts to charge.... The Renogy DC-DC will kick in and start charging the leisure battery.
You will notice the...
