I've seen the value of T6.1 go up in last 6 months by about 5% in VW dealer's lot.
This is the best van I've driven. However - am worried about DPF/EGR etc but no more I would be with any other modern diesel.
Well our lovely little vans are delivering those little tit bits of wisdom again.
T6.1 little opinions

My next door neighbour keeps telling me how good is 2020 t6.1 2.0 is . .( I get a knock on door . My vans break down . .( all he said was . Was driving lost power all lights came on . And won't start .
All I can explain it .when u crank the engine. Feels like its got compression then...
Good Afternoon :)
After getting a steady amber engine light (I believe this relates to exhaust system errors), which did not clear after a long drive down the motorway, I read the error code with my Carista EVO and it showed a P24A8 code "EGR Cooler Coolant Pump Performance/Stuck Off"
I have...
Last week my T6.1 engine light came on and code was EGR insufficient flow. But van did not go to limp mode. I was in Albania and stopped at a garage than services german cars. They removed EGR cooker and pump assembly. It was filthy. Mainly cooler part. They soaked in magic fluid ( break fluid I...
The T6 had the 204 CXEB engine till 2019,
when it was replaced with the CXEC 199 engine in late T6 vans,
The T6.1 started with the CXEC 199 and carried on with that.
we know the CXEB 204 early units had issues, not aware of any major CXEC 199 issues yet?
as for the 150 engines. . .
in the...
What's the forum consensus on this? Has it prevented/reduced EGR clogging for 6.1s or is it still too early to tell? I read through threads describing tales of EGR woes with a feeling of impending doom for my van, but I haven't really taken any notice of whether 6.1s are specifically amongst...
As always, the actual engine code would be useful as 2017 Transporters have quite a few different engines.
It runs all the time - mostly at 100%. Only during DPF regen runs at reduced rate.
Only the remapper can tell that.
Have you verified that you actually still have a working EGR, and not...
IMO yes, it will be expensive, you can’t expect the EGR and DPF to deal with that.
I have cheap Euro 4 diesel run about for short journeys, one of the reasons is not to trash my Euro 5 van.
The secret to a happy EGR & DPF is long trips, plenty of motorway/hills & an occasional spanking in lower gears. Get the revs up to 2000-2500 for 20 mins. If I've been pootling about, I give it a blow out as soon as I hit a dual carriageway or motorway. 65k mile & never had a light on...
I have had this happen on two Bi-turbo Caravelles. A 2011 T5 and a 2016 T6 both owned from new.
Both failed at just over 3 years c 50,000 miles.
Second time VW helped out a bit bringing the bill down to about £5,000 but was not a full engine ‘just’ EGRs, DPF and Turbo’s. Luckily it happened...
Resist getting a 204/199 and aim for the 150 with a 6 speed box assuming you're going diesel.
Like @Sasquatch I've got a Euro 6 102 T28 camper with 5 speed box and it's worth bearing in mind that if you drive these things gently all the Transporter diesels will reward you with an assortment of...
Hey all just picked up a T6.1 last week after owning a T4 2.5 102hp for 17 years. Still have the T4 and will need it for a bit longer, as the T6 has a coolant issue that the garage needs to sort. Using coolant but no sign of a leak so dreaded egr cooler or head gasket (I really hope not ) Loving...
Many thanks for this info.. spoken to my local garage that work on VWs and advised to stay clear of the Biturbo's.. don't fancy shelling out a ton of money to have engine issues a couple of years in!
When you say the regens are like clockwork - is that a certain mileage since the last regen or after, say, 20 minutes of driving each time?
My T6.1 150PS also regens about 3 times per tank and, yes, it burns fuel when it is doing it but it does start when it is at 30g and burns down to 8.5 or 9g...
Had my T6.1 150PS ECU and DSG remapped by @AutotechVagspecialist. Fred is a fountain of knowledge and clearly enthusiastic about his trade. My van was a typical stock 150PS DSG and the gear shifting felt sluggish and flat. I wasn’t specifically looking for more power, as the 150PS seemed ok, but...

Hi all, anyone ordered a new T6.1 with the option of “Parked Re-gen”?
Is it a good option, with some of the problems stated on this forum eg adblue, egr etc
What’s your thoughts folks
