We use the side doors for easier access. We find it gives more options especially when vehicles park behind you on the street.
But appreciate your reply.
...just putting in an order for a T6.1 Transporter TDI 450 4Motion. The remaining agonising question seems to be SWB or LWB. I'm in a manual wheelchair, so there will be a minor reduction in ground clearance due to a slide-out lift under the centre of the van. The vehicle will be my everyday...
...that but I'd personally prefer to be able to leave one door shut and just open the other to reach something out of the 'boot'.
I'm also a wheelchair user so for access it's easier to be able to open one door whilst I move to the side, with a tailgate it's more difficult as you reach and then...
...(Vanstyle) fitted them for me but they couldn't do it this time because of the covid rules.
The reason i'm asking is i'm disabled in a wheelchair and my T6 Is fully adapted for me to drive from my wheelchair and most of the garages i trust are closed because of the covid.
I would rather pay...
...of on Monday has these weird holes in the rear panels in both sides. I have added photos to help explain what I mean. can someone please tell me what they are for and should there perhaps be a blanking plug in them? Yeah ignore the weird seatbelt thing on the floor, that’s for the wheelchair.
...trust him to touch my cars as I am a real fuss arse. I have to be more fussy than most as my Caddy (sorry not a T6 lol) is adapted for my wheelchair and I absolutely have to have a reliable person to work on my vehicle.
The benefit for you is that he works on Saturdays if that helps.

...I may have to postpone my electrical install and camper conversation for many more months if my surgery date comes through before early April!
At least I'll have a new unmolested van if I need to change my conversion plans from a camper to a disability vehicle with a wheelchair ramp! :slow rofl:
this is a specialist wheelchair conversion company so most of you will never encounter them. I fully intend to ask/tell them I want them replacing. Fortunately this is a Motability lease vehicle so we will have their backing to make sure it is done right.
thank you all for your answers though...
...the truth is that I am desperate !!! last week big bill for the egr cooler, also now the clutch ringing a lot, the dual mass, and I don't see a complete kit Luk is a van for the transport of people in wheelchairs and I have to use it a lot !!! sorry for telling my troubles with VW and thanks...
...offer multiple are a smaller number of fixed positions and generally need the rail bonding direct to the chassis.
From the pictures that looks like a conversion to carry a wheelchair given the reels attached to the middle rails, so it might be worth trying to contact some of those specialists?
Yes the SE model of the shuttle has carpet but the S model has rubber floor.
thanks for the link but I am trying to find something without the holes in as they create a problem when trying to manoeuvre a power wheelchair in a confined space and I don’t want to damage, the van, the chair or me lol.
...passenger/boot area rubber mats? I'm wondering if they will lie flat around the rails or just become a trip hazard. We also have fixing points for wheelchairs in the floor (like the attached, are they Q straints?), which could make a mat stick up. Does anyone know if these can these be removed?
Might be worth having a ply floor fitted on top of the carpet, just from the seats back. It could be fixed down using the lashing points (do shuttles have lashing points?). That way you’ll have a solid/smooth floor for easy manoeuvring of the power chair and it’ll be easy to clean.
...due to take delivery of a LWB Shuttle SE soon. We are only having the front 2 seats and the 2nd row of seats as the rest will be for our wheelchairs.
The Se model comes with a carpet throughout so I was wondering if anyone know of a rubber/waterproof covering that we can put in the rear so...

Perfect donor for building a raised floor
...DXX: Interesting comment that the 4Motion mechanism restricts underfloor space. I'm intending to install an underfloor slide-out wheelchair lift. Engineers say that T6 was OK, but T6.1 presents problems because of the position of the AdBlue tank.
My ground clearance will be compromised...
