this is a specialist wheelchair conversion company so most of you will never encounter them. I fully intend to ask/tell them I want them replacing. Fortunately this is a Motability lease vehicle so we will have their backing to make sure it is done right. thank you all for your answers though...

Yes the SE model of the shuttle has carpet but the S model has rubber floor. thanks for the link but I am trying to find something without the holes in as they create a problem when trying to manoeuvre a power wheelchair in a confined space and I don’t want to damage, the van, the chair or me lol.

...passenger/boot area rubber mats? I'm wondering if they will lie flat around the rails or just become a trip hazard. We also have fixing points for wheelchairs in the floor (like the attached, are they Q straints?), which could make a mat stick up. Does anyone know if these can these be removed?

Might be worth having a ply floor fitted on top of the carpet, just from the seats back. It could be fixed down using the lashing points (do shuttles have lashing points?). That way you’ll have a solid/smooth floor for easy manoeuvring of the power chair and it’ll be easy to clean.
