Back down to Newark but in the car this time. Decided the wind/stone deflector wasn’t my thing.
Opted for a rear bumper guard instead.
M1 down, M1 back. A lot quicker today!
Yea, I can see how even once this would destroy your confidence in the roof latches.
My cams continue to snug down the roof firmly every time. I haven’t yet had any reason to doubt them.
My Storm pop top is black with scenic canvas and it blocks the light out totally we do not sleep up there and we leave the side windows open a couple of inches for fresh air as we have smoked winddeflectors and during the day if really hot we unzip the scenic canvas along the bottom edge.
John.
did you ever rectify this? I have a similar issue and am trying to work out what's what - drivers door. Drips down behind door card and pools at door seal.

Edit - as a thought as well - do you have winddeflectors fitted? I do and wonder if that's a cause at all....
...weren't therefore particularly low but condensation wasn't an issue. What I can tell you is that I used it over the top of my winddeflectors (with windows slightly open) and it rained without the thing filling with water. Although I'm referring to it in the singular, it actually came in...
I have ClimAir and wasn’t worried about the tiny hole - biggest problem is having a drill bit small enough. If I ever took them off then a smear of black silicon would fill it and it’s so small you wouldn’t see it.
They’ve lasted years and deflect wind really well.
Only problem I have is a...
Thermal pads inside can collect condensation, which is why people buy winddeflectors, meaning you can leave the front windows open a few centimeters.
I personally use a winter ice cover, which a few on the forum bought a couple of years ago, which in the summer cover all the screen and the...
Hi...
I'm currently looking into winddeflectors for my T6.1
Can anyone advise me into which ones are best, because reading up on the subject has led me into believing that if you have to use the clips that are supplied, they can scratch your windows.. is this correct... I'm after Heko that goes...
Good shout that. There really is nothing to it & the idea of it is way worse than the reality. Once I got the screws out & realised just how tiny they are, I felt a bit of a plonker for being so concerned
Hi all has anybody fitted the Vw OEM type winddeflector they just bond onto the outside I believe
Didn’t really want clips inside by the glass and as for drilling a hole not so sure cheers
Winddeflectors, shorty mud flaps, extra door seals and dash strip fitted today.
Impressed with the mud flaps for the price - was aware the fronts needed some surgery to fit a 6.1 but it wasn’t hard with a Dremel, and the backs fitted perfectly out of the box with no drilling.
Wild camped in our Caravelle just this weekend and boy was it hot. And that’s in the Lakes. It’d be unbeatable anywhere properly warm.
We don’t have a sliding side window so our only option for ventilation is to leave the front cab windows open a bit.
I’ve seen the expensive grilles, but...
The winddeflector is this bit at the front on the underside, you can just see it in this pic
I think the biggest difference between the flat dog rack and the front runner is the flat dog main rack frame is fully welded rather than bolted together. That's why they offer free fitting! It took...
