    Coolant Leak [Resolved]

Hi Ally, just had my EGR cooler replaced after having the problem for 2 years without a proper diagnosis by non VW garages. VW then did diagnostics for 24hrs and discovered it was the EGR cooler. Took 14 hrs first off to replace. VW seemed to semi admit it was a known problem so split half the...

Just wanted to give a quick update on this previous post…. Recently I took my van for a service and MOT (this being it’s first MOT since the above EGR and ADBLUE ‘solution’) and I’m happy to say it sailed through the MOT with no advisories at all…. just a nice compliment on my van from the MOT...

    Newby with a camper

Cheers for the reply @Noddy996. Can totally see why they wouldn't recommend them, but having just forked out, I'd be happy to get 4000 miles or so out of mine, as it's mainly a leisure vehicle we wouldn't use a lot. Can also see why the dealers do flushes first, as it delays them spending a lot...

Thanks for letting me join the group

Welcome! Fumes in cab could be a split EGR pipe. Have a read of this… https://www.t6forum.com/threads/egr-flexi-pipe-exhaust-fumes-in-cab-hissing-from-engine-bay.8076/ Or could be a DPF regeneration - the fans run while it heats up the Diesel Particulate Filter to several hundred degrees C...

    Engine start up

Good question. I just couldn't work out why there was a whooshing noise on acceleration. I checked the EGR pipes and couldn't find any split as there was no sign of black soot or fumes into the cabin. I checked the MAF sensor and couldn't find any fault and so took it for another opinion and...

    VW Service waiting times

So they have now sent me a video with a health check and after 67000 miles i have: 1. EGR pipe has split causing the flashing coil light issue- don't think that is covered under warranty 2. That caused a DPF soot build up and needs a service regen. i’ll have look at that cos it was at 46g when...

Got my van back today, EGR link pipe (which was split) has been replaced, EGR cooler replaced, no mention to whether the valve had been replaced or cleaned. Running alot better anyway.

Mine is still in, can’t flush EGR again as was flushed less than 4wk ago. They’ve replaced the split link pipe, still no word on EGR replacement though. Now they’ve advised they are still discussing with vw technical as to the coolent loss issue...

T6 - Diesel smell in the cab

Hi, Guys and Gals, I have the famous exhaust smell in my Van. So I felt down behind the EGR and sure enough the elbow pipe was split. I have done a temporary repair for now. But I am having problems sourcing a new one. Part no. 04L 131 521 H V 252. Can anyone tell me where to get a replacement ...

Please bear with me on this, I know it looks a bit long-winded, but I think it’s worth having a bit of background detail…. My van is the EU6 102 engine with adblue. Sometime in June the dreaded flashing coil light made an appearance one afternoon when I’d just started the van and I was leaving...

Where did you get gasket for the cooler? I've searched and searched and can't seem to find the gasket between egr and cooler

How common are EGR problems really?

The TSi doesn’t have a dpf, adblue, egr etc, in the UK it’s only available as a 204hp, maybe different elsewhere in the EU. My 204 diesel has been fine, but I run premium fuel, Millers Ecomax and regular oil/filter changes. The only problem in 3 years has been the egr flexi pipe splitting.

    Just wondering.... breakdowns on trips?

Odd post, but I’ll bite. I’ve only had the egr pipe split so far in 2 years, otherwise utterly reliable.
