Hi all, I have an early model T6 (65 plate non ad blue). I've bought two different pairs of replacement drl bulbs with bayonet type fittings but no luck in getting any to illuminate.
Original bulbs are "osram 7506 SL" I'm not sure if this is a wattage issue?? but the bulbs I've bought both...
You are not comparing apples with apples. All you are doing is proving an H4 headlight is brighter with a more powerful bulb. No $h!t, of course it is! So would any headlight. And admitting to the fact the H4 has dark spots in front of the vehicle on main beam - that must be great.
For those...
They are these, makes sure you don't get the "BOOST" as they are not marked as legal and you may fail an MOT, you want the "INTENSE" that are marked.

You want the H11...
Yeah, you're being a bit H4 :think smile bounce:
Just pulling your leg.
High and Low are seperate bulbs. The Low switch off when you hit High but much better to code so that Low stay on when you hit High.
Lots of detail in the following thread - H4 to H7 Upgrade
H7s are a lot better than H4 on dipped and main beam for the reasons mentioned by Dubber36. In my opinion they are perfectly acceptable and that’s in comparison to the all singing and dancing twin LED on my Passat. They are also much...
Since fitting LED H4bulbs I am happy with the OEM T6 headlamps - I don't drive much in the dark and they now give off a nice crisp white light that is definitely brighter than stock bulbs.
So, I wondered if anyone had managed to black out/delete the chrome bits either side that are an...
Funny you should say that - after experiencing the excellent LEDs on the van, Mrs Bank Manager insisted on better lights for her Polo. Fortunately, some better bulbs appear to have appeased!
...to be completed. Only done 3100 miles since last year
Been ‘buzzing’ about in this since 8am  I’ve nicknamed it ‘the ginger t**t’
Looking forward to getting my van back and refitting the small plates, LED H4bulbs, air freshener on the rear view mirror etc etc.
There are MOT compliant H4 halogen lamps that will provide a very small improvement but in my experience, to get a significant improvement you'll have to change your headlights for H7 or proper LED units. There are many pages of content on this forum about both options.
That's the DRL. Does the DRLs work on your H4 headlights? If so, then should work fine on H7s. Check the DRL bulbs are properly inserted. And if they are LED; try turning them 180 degs in case they only work in one position. (positive to positive and negative to negative)
I have a screw in one of the tyres - which would be a fail/advisory
Wasn’t sure whether my rear pads were low so made sense to check
Rear springs flap about when jacked up and suspension sagging - assume that’s a fail
LED bulbs in an H4 headlight are not strictly road legal - although chances...
You can put H7 headlamp units in, fairly cheap, and these will let you put in H7 bulbs. Better than H4 which are so bad you literally can’t give them away. There are different brands of H7s which claim to be up to 200% brighter than your average bear.
Better still is to fit LED headlamp units...
As mentioned they are H4. You are correct on the potential MOT compliant options plus a full OEM LED upgrade (£££££!). I went the H7 route and am very happy with the performance, both dipped and main are much better than the H4. The lights are somewhat hard to come by and normally go for about...
Generally speaking, T6 headlights are referred to by their (dipped) bulb type, so you’ll hear talk of the standard three options as “H4”, “H7” and “LED headlights”.
T6.1 headlights come in either H7+H15 or LED options, so people often just refer to the halogen H7+H15 as “T6.1 headlights” and...
Not told off but probably corrected, because the H7 headlight is far better than the H4 on dipped beam with standard bulbs. This is because the H7 dipped reflector produces a much better spread of light as it is only trying to do the one job.
Coding the H7 is nothing unusual or magic, it’s...
It’s just the drivers side I have. I ordered fog lights and that arrived. So I’m not entirely sure what unit it is. And it’s no use to me.
I’m replacing my H4’s with THQ V3’s so will have the H4’s and also the original T6 rear lights spare if anyone is looking for any.
Hi All.
Has anyone here fitted the Philips Ultinon LED H4 Pro6000's?
Im in Germany and they are approved for the 7HC van. Philips claims they are canbus fault free, but......
1. switching the high-beam both flash (pull) and constant (push) methods immediately gives Bulb error light.
