The reason H4s don't come coded from the factory like that is when both elements in the bulb a lit, they will get very hot and most likely cause the bulb to pop. You really need to change that back until you have H7 headlights fitted.

Has the bulb warning dash light been switched off by VCDS. Some people, including me, have done this when fitting LED DRL bulbs in H7 units following upgrade from H4's.

I‘m running Travelinlite DRL LEDs - no bulb warning on dash Fitted the Osram sidelights and H4 LEDs and I got a bulb warning this morning - so it looks like I’ll have to hook up VCDS and code it out. Actually very pleased with the bright crisp white lighting I now have from the outside :thumbsup:

On a scale of 1 to 10 How much better are the THQ v3 headlights with legal bulbs compared to OEM H4 headlights?

What about the bulb fault detection system when hooking a relay into the high beam wire for H4/H7. Will you run into error codes?

Uprated H4 bulbs will help. I started off with Philips 150% as they had the same lifespan as OEM, but Osram Nightbreakers are popular. Also, have you adjusted the level with the light adjustment wheel? Can make a difference with a heavy camper. But best to go straight to OEM H7s for best...

I guess it's just internal fault detecting tolerances are different on different circuits. Seems more to be working per design? I do not expect another BCM to behave any differently.

Yes - I had H4's and have moved to H7's - hence need need to change the settings to allow both lights on at the same time. Sorry if that wasn't clear from original post.

Both H7's and H4's will display DRLs on unlock and key in barrel. Are you confusing the DRLs on the H4's for the dipped beam ? It isn't, the H4's main bulb is dual filament for main and dipped beam.

Keep a look on eBay and marketplace etc plus the forum. You need to know what you are looking for as the best bargains are either mis-labelled or the seller has no clue what they have. Widen your search wording to catch these. There is a thread on here (something like H4 to H7 Upgrade) that has...
