Hi @Dellmassive I'm looking for a bit of advice as you seem to have evaluated the latest version of the Renogy IP67-50a dc dc charger with MPPT

you need to use very low settings for the VictronOrionDC-DC charger.

Orion XS is back in stock at 12v planet...

Typically I paid 30 quid more for one a week or 2 ago as it didn't look like any stock would be available for weeks, if not months!
So the Victron charger isn't the charger that works from the EHU/240v - that one is built into the Sargent unit.
The VictronOrion is your DC-DC charger that chargers your leisure battery from the van - you can tell this as it's currently telling you it's not charging as the input voltage isn't...
Hi everyone
I’m about to start work on wiring the battery to battery charger system in my van and would like a bit of extra peace of mind before jumping into it.
The victron components I am using are:
Orion-Tr smart 12/12 - 30 non-isolated DC/DC charger
Smart shunt 500A/50mV
I’ve decided I...
As @Drive Wayne says. I have exactly the same DC-DC under my passenger seat too and 3 cables to attach the Ablemail. It took longer to change the settings on the Ablemail than it did to fit it!
Help please. I have a VictronOrion-Tr Smart DC-DC Charger Isolated unit along with a SmartSolar charge controller under my driver's seat.
I have downloaded the Victron App and both are shown in the Device List but I can't get it to pair.
I have taken a photo of the PN and SN and underneath is...
Yes, the remote H pin is just telling the charger function to power on or off, not powering on the device.
The DC-DC is getting power from the battery. If it wasn't, the remote wouldn't work.
And on this note - rather than the Orion TR you might want to consider the new Orion XS (if you can wait until March) as it's smaller, runs cooler and can change up to 50a.
Comparing the 2, the DCC50s limits the DC-DC to 25a if there's anything coming in on solar, so if you end up going for a...
I likewise know Sterling from the marine side and the dual direction nature of the DC-DC is interesting, but it's hard to beat the combination of compactness, relative cool running and sheer capability of the new VictronOrion XS in a small van and using the Victron MPPT Solar alongside it makes...
Unless you are really going to stretch the capacity with sustained off grid use or you just like lots of data then probably not.
That's a good set of kit, though I'd go for the smaller and cooler running Orion XS DC-DC and downrate in software.
If you find you do need one they are reasonably...
I was told split charger by my converters but when I queried and spoke to the electrician he’s fitting a VictronOrion DC - DC unit. Maybe a similar (& not very good) description by the converters but definitely worth checking
Fogstar are correct, a shunt will be more accurate than the batteries own BMS - the fogstar batteries can't read draws under 1a. I have a constant 0.4/0.5a draw as I have a Cerbo GX and a 4g router powered on.
This is my battery BMS and Victron smart shunt reading at the same time - the shunt...
