I am in the middle of changing my leaky shocks on our T6 T32 front suspension and I can't get the driveshaft to go back in on the engine side, it starts to locate but won't go in, I can get one bolt in at the bottom of the shock but the one above won't go in as the driveshaft won't go all the...
My t32 is making a clicking type of noise when I steer one way.i think it could be a CV joint, driveshaft.
Has anyone changed a driveshaft on one with a dsg box. Is it more involved than a manual box. Thanks
...a wheel bearing then this too would show itself at all times, on or off the gas.
I feel, based on other posts, the likely culprit is a driveshaft.
Is it as simple as wheel off, driveshaft nut off, undo bottom ball joint, turn steering and undo inner flange bolts before wiggling it free...
...the van, nothing before or after this speed range
have had suspension tracking tyres and alloys etc checked all ok, I'm thinking either driveshaft or engine/ gearbox mount but local garages cannot confirm so currently stuck.has anyone had similar issue and rectified it or is there a garage in...
Almost a year to the day since having my gearbox stripped and repaired due to the spider gear spline failure I have noticed a leak at the driveshaft seal for the drivers (longer) driveshaft. I will speak to the company that repaired the gearbox on Tuesday and hopefully they will sort it...
...morning when pulling away from a junction.... clunk and no drive. Just a grinding noise. Sounds very much like stripped splines on the driveshaft (remember the same issue from my earlier T5).
My question is, has anyone got a list of part numbers for driveshafts? I am yet to get the van jacked...
...left. When stationary the last half a turn of the steering is quite bad with the wheel and tyres shaking quite a bit.
I’m guessing driveshaft/CV is shot so looking to get that replaced.
But when I was looking there is quite a bit of oil around the inner boot (where the driveshaft goes into...
Hi all, I may need new driveshafts soon, I have a 2017 204 4m DSG. Anyone managed to find any good aftermarket ones that are cheaper than genuine (which are £1500)?
The shaft passes through the winkelgetriebe. Doubt it can be removed insitu but the seal may be replaceable with the driveshaft off. I've got a 4motion box in the garage if you want a photo.
Did you replace the driveshafts?
Did it resolve the vibration?
I've got a similar vibration and suspected tyres, had new tyres and balancing, the vibration didn't change, so not tyres. I'm thinking it's possibly driveshafts. Mine's a 2016 4Motion.
Have they removed the offside driveshaft and checked the splines inside the gearbox? The symptoms sound exactly like this increasingly common failure.
If so, it will need a rebuild to replace the differential side gear, and a new driveshaft. A LOT cheaper than a new box, and getting a second...
Just bought a 2023 4M, Cali with 15 000 km. Also have vibrations at 85 km/h, not above, not below. Saw in service history that a driveshaft joint was exchanged. Can it have something to do with that?
Thanks for your replies,
I currently have 60mm lowering springs and machined top points to give it that extra bit of drop at the front. So around 80mm drop currently, next question is.. would it be wise to look at shortened driveshafts at that height giving the option to go lower at a later date?
...sure I can hear a noise that sounds like the wind if that makes sense. Similar to road noise but in addition.
Could I have damaged the driveshaft, cv joint or some bearings when taking it all apart and its a rotary noise?
I did read a thread on here when someone's top mounts were...
Thanks it's just finding a local garage willing to investigate and diagnose, I'm leaning towards driveshafts but will probably have all the engine and gearbox mounts checked first, as I remember when they completed the dmf it was returned to me with a loose / incorrectly tightened gearbox mount...
