    Engine coolant bottle empty [Resolved]

I have a similar problem on my '16 Caravelle. Have to keep topping up the coolant. Last time the light went on I was low but not empty so drove for a time until up to temperature and looked again and it was back up to max! Just had it in to the local garage who ran it up to temp and pressure...

    Losing coolant [Resolved]

If you search "losing coolant" (not loosing) most of the threads refer to EGR cooler leaks: https://www.t6forum.com/search/324613/?q=losing+coolant&o=date I know you say that the EGR valve cooler has been ruled out but they also thought it was the header tank.

    Losing coolant [Resolved]

Ok Friend of mine lost all his coolant (well, went from max to minimum in a 50 mile journey) , scary temp light came on, got recovered to garage. Im 400 miles away - I can't get to him to look at it. Ruled out head gasket EGR Multiple other things They Think it was the seal on the coolant...

102PS with 2 Turbo Failures - was re-map to blame?

I didn’t say as much but after the sort of failure that you described it would be unusual for there not to be engine damage if that much oil had gone through the engine in such a short time. It is unusual and I would be very interested to see the Turbo although from what you have said...

    glow plug change - 2016 t6 CR150

If you can buy a pair of cheap brake hose clamps, clamp off the coolant hoses that way you’ll only lose some water by totally removing the cooler

    Vw T6 102 EGR swap?

I had mine done. Worth a scan to make sure it’s the EGR. I was getting an engine light, with insufficient flow. Also caused an AdBlue fault as the NOx was too high due to low EGR flow and increased combustion temperature. Was about £522 for the part, but you also need the new gaskets and the...

EGR cleaned but still having issues.

Losing coolant is never a good thing. I wouldn’t be topping that up without finding out where it is disappearing to.

EGR cleaned but still having issues.

Interesting. I posed the same question back in June as that was my theory: https://www.t6forum.com/threads/egr-flexi-pipe-exhaust-fumes-in-cab-hissing-from-engine-bay.8076/post-287111 My other thought is that this causes a boost leak, which means it runs rich, which will create more soot and...

EGR cleaned but still having issues.

...as a VW tech!! After I showed VW the photo they claim It must have just happened, anyway, that's been replaced now. They now say I'm losing coolant, at a rate i should be topping a litre every couple days as the pressure test is below the recommended BarG. Although I've never topped it up...

    Oil gooey???

Put a marker on the coolant reservoir and check daily to see if you are losing any. I really hope for you that there isn’t a problem but you need to watch it like a hawk to work out if any of that coolant is getting in to the oil. You should also check the oil on the dipstick daily until you...

    Recovery vehicle on the way.....

how far out of warranty? given it is clearly a well known issues i would expect some contribution from vw, do you have full vw history?

EGR cleaned but still having issues.

I’m having the same issue with the constant coolant loss and issues turning over the engine when cold. Since removing my coolant lid slightly so pressure can’t build and I haven’t had a problem since, starts 1st time every time. Took it into VW and told them the issues so pressure tested the...

EGR cleaned but still having issues.

I’m having the same issue with my Gen 6, which started just after lockdown. There are no signs of leaks & it’s pressure tested, which passed. The garage topped it up almost to the top of the expansion as we were just about to go to France. We’re now in France, having done about 400 miles & the...

sorry to jump in here, my T6 Velle has started losing coolant on a daily basis, having to top it up, AA did a pressure test today and said showing no fault, I suspected the EGR now not so sure, would the EGR leak show up on a pressure test

    Coolant leak

Yes a charge cooler could cause a coolant leak, it did on mine earlier this year. https://www.t6forum.com/threads/losing-coolant.16884/

    Losing Coolant

I have a 204 DSG T6 and been losing power and having to top up the coolant every couple of weeks, got 84000 miles on the clock, it’s a 2016, 66 plate and I do 2000 miles a month on average. I can see water by the egr cooler so looks like I’ll have to swap it out! For those that have done it...

Noise behind dash and limp mode

Hi, never had it on the dipstick but was regularly on the filler cap before the head replacement but don't seen to get it on the filler cap now which is very suspicious. The dealership had a memo that the white sludge was perfectly normal on this engine

Noise behind dash and limp mode

I meant on the dipstick. If you're losing several litres of coolant into the oil, the level would rise and the oil on the dipstick would look like magnolia paint. I'll be interested in the outcome.

    Webasto Aux Heater Unlock

The pumps can get gummed up after being inactive for some time, there are two ways that may free it, a few choice taps with a hammer or application of heat with a few taps. Usually it is simpler to just replace the pump though. It is possible that the fuel lines were never filled originally or...
