Hi All,
Had exact same problem, had flashing coil light for months, people scanned it and couldn’t find anything. Came on couple of weeks ago, restarted engine and went off. But accompanied by turbo whining.
Took it for a smoke test to see if had any leaks on pipes, none.
Took it to another...
100% agree @Bav and have said similar many times (to anyone who cares to listen to my whining!)
and although not practical to spend a year on a bicycle surely it would be practical, and wholly beneficial, for everyone to spend time on/in each different class of vehicle as part of their driving...
...was swerved because though I had no EML, I had a confirmed fault for inlet manifold runner position. On top of a noise I’m certain is a turbo whine. So I’m anticipating a large turbo & new dpf bill coming. Which I hope will solve the oil consumption. All will become clear in November as I’m...
Or, bear with me for my crazy idea, buy a £25 Carista and a £40 a year subscription so you can be monitoring your DPF.
DPFs don’t just block for fun. Either you have
a) been ignoring the issue for a while, or
b) another engine issue that blocked it really quick, or
c) been doing lots of short...

Have you checked your tyres for any lumps or bulges, both on the tread and the sidewalls?
Easiest way is to jack up each wheel and slowly turn each wheel. Beware that there may be cord or wire sticking out the tyre, wearing gloves is a good precaution against injury.
You may also notice either...
I've got some cheap ditchfinder tyres on our runabout car and the tread pattern is more like a winter tyre, at slow speeds it sounds like failed wheel bearings and at 30mph it sounds like a diff whine, I bet they'll last for at least 50,000 miles too!
I still have my 2004 T5 1.9PD with just under 300k on the clock. Gearbox whines and age can be felt and seen but it still works, I use it for dirty/oily cargo van's are intended for (can't stain my T6!) and as a spare. It doesn't get much miles anymore though.
Hello all,

Looked through the manual, cannot find any reference to this unmarked button (middle of row above the electric slider buttons). I can't help but think this is going to be a forehead slapping question.... does anyone know what it does??!
When pressed the car makes a kind of whining sound. Anyone?
My Arteon is in again with a nav system fault. This time the nav system makes a strange whining noise and then crashes and reboots. Happened 3 times in 120 mile journey. ACC and traffic signal recognition not available during down time. I’m left wondering whether there could be a more dangerous...

I have no info really, first time it blew to bits oil out the exhaust. This time the turbo is whining on idle and below 2500rpm then it clears. Bearing i would think, they replaced turbo the first time and put the old oil back in. I complained but they said this is normal if no contamination
The clearing of the ‘whining’ was probably the frequency increasing to being outside of the audible range as the rotor speed increased.
Putting the old oil back!!!!!! Oil screen takes out the lumps and the oil filter removes particles down to ? microns on a single pass before lubricating. No oil...
