Running HEAVY on 235/65/17 Falken Wildpeaks - what sort of pressures should I be considering?

I am about to do a 18 hour drive across Europe in 2 stints. Leg one non stop Calais to Zurich with an overnight stop then another non stop down the Adriatic coast. I have a LWB shuttle and it will be running very heavy up near the limit of its 3.2 capacity. The Falken wildpeaks say don't...

t32 hard suspension - pot hole avoidance

Hi. Did your 235/65/17s rub on full lock? Have you raised the suspension or are you on standard height? Many thanks.

    Are BFG K02 really Noisy?

Well, went for the Black Rhino Warlords with 235/65/17 wildpeaks, looks great, road noise very acceptable and handling noticeably better than 275/40/r20s so thanks for all of the input.

t32 hard suspension - pot hole avoidance

I was looking at 65s but couldn’t find a 103 in a known brand. Same with 60s. I’ve looked again and there are some 104s. Hmmm. Interesting. Thank you.

    Downsize 20” for comfort

Hi. I’m after some recommendations for my T32 I’m currently riding with 20” (275/40ZR20) on H&R 40mm springs and love the look, however, hate the ride with the current state of the roads. I’m looking for recommendations to drop down to 18” but try and keep the look and style of the bigger...

Don’t know what it is with the Kato’s but I think they are the best 17” wheel out there. I am biased, but they just look the part. I ended up with some Michelin Agilis Climate Controls. 235/60r17. Load rated at 117. Will post pics in a month once I’m swapped out the current 18” Conti Winter...

    Big brakes upgrade

I'm with @Sasquatch on this. My LWB T32 has the standard brakes but, even with larger 235/65/17 tyres I've never felt the brakes were lacking in normal use. Before we bought a pick up truck for towing duties, we would use the van to tow our horse box. With two horses it could be as much as...

    Falken Wildpeak on 17 or 18" ?

I will give it some tests and observe as I am sure you are right, as I said I dont pay any attention to my speedo reading unless doing things like this as I solely drive off of my Sat Nav speed.

    All-Season Tyre recommendations

I'm the process of considering a new set of tyres and possibly wheels for my T6 4motion. Previously on my T5 i had bfg ko2 in 245/65/17 on the Devonports with 20mm spacers. Looked great, the gearing was probably a little too far out for my liking and road performance wasn't great. I'm ideally...

Leighton Front End - swamper style?

I don’t have your front end but do have an aftermarket front with lip , lowered on ST-X Coilovers (CRS) with 17” Black Rhino and 235/65/17 Wildpeak AT tyres. No issues so far anywhere with access although obviously not green laning off-road but happy with forestry type car parks (non tar mac...

t32 hard suspension - pot hole avoidance

FWIW, I've just fitted 235/65/17's in a 108 (with new coilovers) and the ride is surprisingly supple. I wonder what the relationship is between sidewall depth vs load rating and where thr two almost cancel each other out. Obviously a 35 profile 108 is going to be worse than a 65 profile 108 and...

    Swamper v Caravelle ride height?

...believe that only some Caravelles came lowered, possibly just the Executive. Is yours definitely lower than a standard (panel) van? The 235/65/17's will give you about a 23mm ride height gain and close the arch gap by the same amount. The image above still looks to have a decent gap which...

General Grabber AT3's vs the BFG KO range

Honestly if I was wanting a more all round, less aggressive tyre than the KO2, it'd be the falken wildpeak at3wa, hands down. As for tyre size, 235/65R17 is 6% bigger than std 235/55R17, and 245/65R17 is 8% bigger. You'd fit both on std height suspension, and 235 on lowered down to 50mm or so.
