Newbie - some buying advice please

I have had the following done on my 2019 lwb shuttle dsg. Bed system, electrics, heater and curtains. We use it as our daily family car and then a camper with Awning. The guy who did all the work said it's not worth insulating further as there is a reasonable amount from factory! The shuttles...

**Edit 9/6/22** price reduced to £62,000 I’ve reluctantly decided to sell my camper which was brand new in May 2021. I thought I’d see if there is any interest here before I take it back to Bodans for them to sell. So the details are as follows: MY2021 VW Transporter Highline T6.1 T32 150bhp...

    Hello from South Warwickshire

Excited to say we are just about to buy our dream T6.1 camper conversion. We've been researching for around a couple of years now; the forum has been a great resource. We have been to shows, found a great converter, hired a van to try the layout etc., chosen our base van spec., and we're just...

    Dashcam: Blackvue vs Thinkware

hi @dav1d did you notice a significant drop in the leisure battery after 3 weeks? And presume you needed to buy the additional hardwire kit to do that? cheers.

Finally taking the plunge, here are a billion questions..

Hey Ian, Thank you a million times for this! Will you be a Busfest? I'd love to come and chat to you further if you're going to be around. Not sure where in Somerset you are, I'm in Bristol, maybe we could arrange something else if you don't think Busfest would work! Thanks again, Imogen

    Where do I start?

Its difficult to know what you really want from the van... is it long term or just a year or two... is it for UK trips or longer continental touring... Already converted campers are cheaper but then there will be a list of things it will be missing which some people find important... would...

    Tow bar mounted ski carrier

Not rear mounted , but roof mounted. I use the Thule ski carrying thing every Jan when I haul my x country skis up to the Highlands and seem to miss the snow every time . I have a 100watt solar panel which it doesn’t really interfere with ( we camp wild for several days with fridge and heater...

Cost of new conversion - comparison

Whatever you spec up for your conversion ( unless you have unlimited budget ) will not be enough bcause when you acually use the converted camper and see what other people have there will be no end to what you want .. speaking from experience of having a panel van converted with what I thought...

    Welcome new members

Welcome and enjoy the experience of what works best for you in terms of fit out. Although it’s perfectly possible to fit a pop top after you’ve done other work, if you’re going that route anyway, you’d probably be better off doing the roof first. It’s a simpler process that way.

    Solar Roof Box?

I've been pondering the idea of fitting slimline solar panels to a roof box. My thinking was if I need to be away for longer than a day or two (thus the need for solar), it is also likely that I will need to carry more kit (hence the need for a roof box). This set-up would mean I can keep the...

Roof bars, boxes and other external storage solutions

Yeah mines a SWB too, I'd keep the tailgate rack for the bike, just looking at getting things like wetsuit, kayak, cooking stuff, dirty clothes etc out of the van to leave more living space. It wouldn't stop me shopping at Tesco, no height barriers at the ones round here, but I wouldn't be...
