Hi, newbie and dreamer of owning a vw conversion here. Having researched this forum, autotrader and speaking to a couple of converters in the trade. I think I’m finally getting there to figuring out what I’d like on a van. I have a limited budget and based on prices I think I’d be better off...

    Solar Panel Fail?

Yes, the difference between it and the old 160W panel is quite telling, I never saw that panel above 50w at its best. I had everything inside the van switched on, burning and turning to see what the panel could do. I had to remove the old one (4 years old) with a stanley knife on the sikaflex...

Crispy’s ‘TIPPSY’ - Daily driver, camper and motorbike hauler

Thanks @dErZ. I’ve really enjoyed building it. Just a couple more bits to do to the interior such as the internal tailgate release and an under seat storage box. We plan to do a few multi-day trips next year so I will be adding a portable solar panel to the set-up. It’ll likely be a Goal Zero...

Day van conversion with pop top?

I think you are saying you've currently got a typical camper setup in a SWB van with a pop-top.. It sounds like you'd be better off with a Kombi van that has a triple rear seat (ISOFIX version) and two Captains seats up front - that would make it a five seater. Depending on the age of your...

Day van conversion with pop top?

Already have a t5 camper but our family is growing and probably need to get a proper seat to house the extra baby, the basic rock and roll was fine for oldest as he rode up front in the 3 front seats. It’s mileage is also creeping up along with its 2008 age and it could probably do with a...

Looking to buy my first camper!

@bash - my best advice is to go & hire a campervan for a little holiday. That way you'll definitely know what you want and more importantly what you don't want in your conversion. It's a big expense to get wrong, and by spending a little on hiring will make you spend your budget wisely.
