...they have never come across the counter resetting from 650 miles to no start, I'm sure they will see at the repaired wiring from some rodentdamage I had and recommend replacing stuff but given that its worked fine for the last two years since I repaired it I'm sure its more software related...
I have just heard from my VW dealer that the reason I have been getting an "ad blu" warning message is due to rodents chewing through the cables under the ad blu tank. Apparently they can smell the sweetness of the ad blu and try to chew through to get to it. This is going to cost me £1800 which...
this is an interesting one. .
a sudden drop to 650 Adblue is normally when the system cant detect the Adblue level.
normally from over filling. or contaminated Adblue,
vw normally start by draining out Adblue to a lower level,
apart from that Adblue wire loom damage is known - rodents chew...
Great, thanks for the responses. It's at my local independent garage (VW specialist) and hopefully they're going to be able to repair the wires on all three. I cant really do it myself as though I've got decent DIY capability i dont have a platform to raise it and there's not enough space for me...
This is a fairly new, but quickly escalating problem with urban foxes. They are very bold and brazen, so foraging around streets, homes and cars is normal, and they now have a taste for the wiring underneath cars. They also teach their young where to forage, so the problem is getting worse. ABS...
...down the conductors, as the seals themselves look fine. The photo with the corrosion on just the 3 pins in the middle demonstrates this.
so the question is, did these cables suffer previous rodentdamage? And was the repair just to the cables, as that looks the most likely cause to me.
...to stay detecting the level again, and monitor the drop in level as it's being used..... With will make the system happy again.
........
Appart from that comon issues are rodentdamage to wire looms under the van.
Or
Damaged tank electronics in lowered vans.
Or
Pump and heater fault.

There seem to be a lot of mice at the yard where our van is kept. No damage yet, but I found a mouse larder of sycamore seeds on top of the engine a while ago, and droppings on top of the starter battery.
With the permission of the yard owner I put poison down in secure lockable bait boxes -...
...picture below was the one I took at the time, I think you can just see the cables chewed through are brown plus a blue and white one like yours, I suggest you crawl underneath and have a look, you need to go in line with the back of the front wheels, there is also a thread on here on rodent...
...recently?
Other folks have gone through having oil pressure valve replaced only to find it was a damaged wiring issue (I've read rodentdamage and corrosion)...I wonder if wiring damage should be first port of call as there has been lots of conversion work occur and the light came on for the...
I do not know about exhaust gas sensors in particular, However I have never come across foxes eating bits of vehicle. Mice and other rodents on the other hand can do a lot of damage to wiring and plastic bits. Foxes like most other animals main interests are food, avoiding danger and mating at...
Hello everyone, I have a small question and I hope someone can help me. So brace yourselves, I have quite a story below I have a 2016 T6 4motion 2.0 TDI with a CXFA 150hp engine and 50,000 km mileage. History:
A cable gnawed by a marten, hence a repair and installation of a marten deterrent...
This has popped up before..
Rodentdamage to cables under van.
It's been said it's more to to with the rubber sheathing on the cable?.... They like it for some reason.
Various sensors under van.
There are a few threads on the matter.
We'll see if we can get the links.
I wouldn't say the bonnet switch is a common problem, but rodentdamage comes up occasionally, but when you say corrosion, do you live on the coast?
Have you tried spray cleaning the bonnet catch/switch?
