What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

No worries, I now understand... I just use the standard black plastic Vw bolt caps to cover the bolts & locking nuts, they just slip over quite loose, but I've never lost any yet:

    Seatbelt buckle extender?

Hi. I've had same problem but now fixed. Undo bolt. Then transfer to other side. The loop will come off. However the bolt on other side is larger so will need either a longer threaded bolt or a new locking nut and bolt to fix it in place as the original side has a welded thread on inside. I'm...

    Insurance Companies

Just in the process of having to find insurance after Brentacre would no longer cover me. tried all the usual places - A-plan, A Flux, Just Kampers. They were all between £1380 - £1750 - this is going from £500 last year this was a kick in the nuts. A friend of mine works in insurance and...

    Vehicle Battery removal

You can charge in the van. Attach positive to the clamp nut or spigot near where the cables attach. The negative needs to be attached to the van chassis, not direct to the battery otherwise you bypass the shunt (the little box on the neg terminal). There is a connection on the side of the engine...

Interestingly the best way I got a cheap let quote was multi cover through admiral £1300 for my 22 plate t32 Kombi. Zone 3 london. 12k miles a year parked on street. Even though horrific - not as bad as I was expecting

Hit a speed bump and van shut down and came to a stop. Scan shows numerous module communication errors.

Congrats! I'm pretty sure that was it. This is the one earth point that just doesn't make much sense to me - just by moving it 20cm forward they could have it by the gear stick base which would be much more reachable and just as solid metal there as well.

225/65R17 FALKEN A/T TRAIL 106H XL were fine for load and speed. Good on 110 bhp and quiet too. I don't see the point of getting a camper that's going to be going to fields and not having semi-decent AT tyres personally.

    Grey on grey?

...on the summer wheels, Devonports. Not that the steel wheels have winter tyres... I'm also wondering what I can do with the plastic wheel nut covers. Any ideas. Leave dark gray, or try painting. Assuming I'd need specific paint as the flax of he plastic would cause any paint to crack. Ideas...

    New T5 Owner

I've just been out to have a check and there are 2 covered over bolts between the passenger seat and handbrake, is it possible there was a double fitted previously with 6 bolts? or is it possible that the current passenger seat is covering a further 2 unused? I'll try and get some pictures later...

Ovano mods or tweaks or tips

Hi @Kev.O , it's secured at the rear to the kombi bed system, then secured to the single seat using an existing hole in the foott using a well nut (rubber tube with threaded insert that expands on the opposing side). It's been profiled so as to not clash when tilting the seat forward and I've...

    Bilstein B14 rear springs snapped.....Again!!

I did confirm this with H&R because the H&R kit we sell has absolutely no issues with the rear springs at all ! H&R did say that the B14 rear spring was made by them to a customers design not theirs . They also confirmed they didnt agree with the design particularly in...

    Floor Tie-Down Lashing Points

Youve lost me with tehmetal washer, do you mean the spacer? is the captive nut in teh floor spinning? The bolts will always rust, you could take them out and cover with an anti corrosion oil. The only reason to worry about corrosion on th bolts is they can be a pig to get out later on if they...
