I've got a pair of Caravelle swivels, very good condition, only taken them out to have some heightadjustment available for my comfort. They are leather and alcantara, very nice, with arms rests.
It can be done. I've done it myself as my rusty Lee swivel was like a nodding donkey. Cushion base and backrest are all the same. Just the base and all the plastics are different. Take your time. 4x bolts hold the backrest on to the base, 4x bolts for the cushion. But yes, you do loose the...
The dash storage areas are imo woeful , really they should have rubberized the surface then at least you would not have to watch and listen to all and sundrie items wallowing about. VanX iirc do some very nice rubber inserts for the door pockets that I can highly recommend fit very well.
The...
Hi all, fairly new to this forum but I think I need some advice re seats. I have a T6 Caravelle with a Captains drivers seat (no heating) and a passenger bench seat. I want to change the Bench seat for a Passengers Captains Seat with armrests etc (no Heating).
I have sourced a swivel seat base...
Here we have for sale all you need in order to transform the comfort of your van. These are by far the best purchase we made during our ownership.
Package includes - 2 x Caravelle front seats with armrests, finished in leather and alcantara that feature height and lumbar adjustment, non heated...
I meant, what option? I thought they were shipped with swivel bases but you're right that swivels were built-in. So must have been a poverty spec option to deny your single passenger any heightadjustment
Shame you didnt get (can't modify) a dog cage the same height as the seats when they are in folded flat. Then your legs could go over the dogs.
I bought an adjustable height camping table (Outwell Canmore L Table) which at 120cm wide is the width of the rear opening and adjustable height to...
We went with RIB drivers & passenger from Kiravans. Easy to fit and does the job, do not rattle and are stable.
If I was buying a new van factory swivels would be my choice but be aware there is no heightadjustment.
I always thought the seat positioning was on the high side, even at the lowest setting, my prev 6.1 had the factory swivels hence no heightadjustment and that to me , made the driving position even worse, was going to change them out for non swivel captains seats but had a meeting with black...
I really don’t know as I have a new can that is planned to have seats changed. I’m having single manual leather Caravelle Exec seats put into a Kombi van with swivel bases.
I’m hoping they will still have heightadjustment and not sit too high because of the swivel plate.
Fitted the Kiravans RIB single passenger swivel today - wanted to retain the rear base plastic panel so trimmed the top at the point where it changes direction by 90degrees - basically the bit that sits on the top of the base. Still clips in ok.
Will think about trimming the seat side plastic...
It depends on your seating position.
I had a factory swivel on the passenger in my last van and ordered both seats on the new van. I didnt want to put up with rattles from aftermarket swivels, as well as the fact they raise the seat higher, but not sure how much.
I'm generally short with very short legs, 160cm & my feet touch the ground with the factory swivel. Not sure if the pvc is the same as the 6.1 Coast tho. The seats are definitely different to my T6's.
Has that changed from the T5 & T6, then? Or are these aftermarket swivels you’re referring to?
I’ve got OEM swivels in lieu of heightadjustment and wish I had both.
The swivel isn't in the base. Its a separate part in the seat that replaces the heightadjustment mechanism. Other bits are required too. See item 20 and 25 here
