No disrespect, but surely these ought to have been the questions you asked the person you no doubt handed over a large wad of cash to for the conversion. You are asking the collective who can only second guess how it's all been put together & configured. The person to ask is the one who...
The starter battery is indeed 70Ah but the leisure batteries are the ones in question - see below* with the amendment that one of mind is 70and not 75Ah.
But regardless of size, have I a problem here? When the supplier has had 3 goes at a fix and tells me all is well, is what I describe above...
What do you have in your setup currently for EHU? What consumer unit? Any 240v sockets?
The normal set up to charge leisurebattery on hookup would be a 240v charger wired into the consumer unit, fed from hookup. Then connected to the LB with appropriate fuses.
The DC-DC would be connected...
Hi Folks,
Many thanks to Dellmassive, Pauly, icb & Salty Spuds for all your comments. I'm still a little confused about the leisurebattery being charged when connected to EHU. When I connect via EHU the Seattle Control panel only shows the Leisurebattery when it should show the 'Plug' symbol...
Yes i have o
i have the Revolution conversion. It had the Sterling B2B and Sargent EC power distribution and charger. The Sterling got replaced by a more compact less cumbersome Victron. I removed the internal constant voltage battery charger from the Sargent as tge LeisureBattery was an AGM...
At this time of year, particularly when the weather gets cold, I get a low vehicle battery warning from my MetaTrak tracker app about once a week. I am aware that the tracker itself is the likely cause of the battery drain and that the resolution to this is to drive the van more often (mainly...
not a stupid question. .
a lot of people get caught out when camping - even when on EHU that charges the LB.
everyone always forgets about the starter battery - or just assumes that the EHU charger will charge the starter battery - its doesnt (with most standard installs using say a Sargent...
As Mentioned before .
Post pi s of your setup... It will help us see what's going on.
Post pics of all the battery.
Chargers, inverters, 12v system. Cables etc etc.
Then screenshots of your App and bm2. Etc
.....
Fyi anyone camping in the van will get caught out with a flat starter...
What’s involved with this? And can it be bought as a kit? I’m coming from caravaning and what a super basic system. I have thought the portable battery pack is the way, but why I’m at carpeting point in the build I am thinking a basic EHU system is going to be worthwhile?
Many thanks
This is my first post and I’ve just started to convert my t6 kombi, so far I’ve had it all insulated and sound proofed, vapored and carpeted. I have had an 100ah leisurebattery with victron Bluetooth b2b installed under the drivers seat. And the next step is to have EHU installed. So my...
Note that you don't need the isolated version in a van as it's fine to use the body as a common ground, the isolated versions are for more marine environments (where currents in a metal hull will cause galvanic corrosion) or coach-built vans.
The isolated will be fine with both grounds on the...
I've found a copy of the manual here:
https://www.rainbow-conversions.co.uk/cbe-motorhome-caravan/cbe-pc210-kit.html
The section you seem to be talking about is this one and I agree the manual seems to suffer from being not very well translated from the (presumably) original Italian
If this...
There is certainly a strong argument for using something like an EcoFlow. If I was starting again, then I would probably do away with a leisurebattery, but keep the EHU wiring, only with a dedicated hook up to either charge an EcoFlow when on EHU or power from it when off-grid.
The light in the top picture shows the alternator (via the starter battery) is charging the leisurebattery. The voltage readout for the batteries is useless when the engine is running as they just show the voltage from the alternator. You need to turn everything off and leave for about an hour...
Thanks for all the excellent guides and threads on starter batterycharging/maintenance.
With this method of charging the starter via the cigarette socket, are there any precautions to take charging the starter from a socket in the van when on EHU (or just straight from the mains for that...
As you use EHU then a 105ah is more than sufficient. The Roamer is a good price with great feedback of their support. I have the Fogstar and it’s been brill and £299 is an excellent price as it’s normally £369. Mine has been faultless so I’ve had no need to use their support but they were very...
Interesting setup.
I've not seen those elc power supplies before.
So looks.like:
Check d250 dc-dc charger,
With additional solar panel connected to it.
EHU with twin 12v power supplies.
EHU fuse box,
12v fuse box,
A 240v mains inverter of some discription. That seems to have a power...
Charged it.
Came back from Germany and the van has been sat with the voltage going through the floor. I have a 10w solar thing in the dash which seems to be enough during summer, but not now, so hooked up EHU and plugged in the CTEK MXS 5.
I turned off the leisurebattery charger, as you can...
