Only a side note really, but whether you choose these or the VW H7 you will need to code them for the main and dipped beam to come on together. That’s how they are meant to work. It’s set differently on the H4 because dipped and main use the same bulb in the same lense unit.
...date on the sticker is May 2018. They look in great condition but wanted to check the DRL terminals for melting etc so wiggled the DRLbulb holder out from the housing (not the easiest to get out and back in) but anti clockwise twist to unlock and a bit of confidence and they unlock, the...
Post #1 in this thread shows you a comparison between the H4 and H7 headlights. They look very similar but the layout of DRL and main beam is slightly different. You can fit LED bulbs in either but these are illegal and an MOT failure.
The other option are the aftermarket headlights such as...
Awesome. I went for Osram Cool Blue pictured below. They give a whiter light than other halogens but not as white as the DRL. I’d recommend not getting the 150-200% as they don’t last long and are a yellow light. They are ok for main beam but you will be changing the dipped ones about once a...
I thought you didn't want to spend loads?!
Fitting the LED DRLs is the same process as the H7s, including bumper off and coding for the dipped lights. The dipped beam on them will not be as bright as H7s with the same halogen bulb as the projector is less efficient and reduces output compared...
I’d avoid the Osram led drls as it throws an error unless you know someone who can code it out, I bought the resistors to go with them but couldn’t believe how hot they ran so just ended up using lumro? white effect halogens for drl as they came with the H7s I’d bought. I did buy and fit the...
My new T6.1 March 2022 H7 is the low and H 15 is the high and the DRL absolute pricks to fit without taking the grille out But Narva do a great H7 LED replacement and this mob Volkswagen Transporter H15 LED DRL / Main Beam Bulb (Double Headlight) can sell you an LED H15 which works perfectly...
Not told off but probably corrected, because the H7 headlight is far better than the H4 on dipped beam with standard bulbs. This is because the H7 dipped reflector produces a much better spread of light as it is only trying to do the one job.
Coding the H7 is nothing unusual or magic, it’s...
Hi all,
We have a 2015 T5.1 and a few months ago I fitted some LED bulbs to the DRLs and side lights - they must have been cheap crap as they have given me a couple of issues.
First off, one of the side light bulbs failed (as did the same bulbs in the rear number plate light!), so I have just...
T6's are notorious for having uber sensitive bulb monitoring, so I can't see 6.1's being any different. Even most that say they are CanBus compatible will get trigger warnings.
It might be worth giving Xenon HID Conversion Kits, Xenon HID Bulbs, LED Lights, BMW Angel eyes, Daytime DRL Lights a...
Per wiring diagram T6.1 headlights have no dedicated side light bulb (pin 10 empty on T6.1) - instead dimmed DRL acts as side light.
See the linked wiring diagrams here:

You could redirect T5.1 side light feed...
