Not insulated for a reason? That's a new one. A properly sound deadened and insulated van is a much more pleasant place to be whether in motion or not, summer and winter. Anyone who advises against insulation, is well worth staying away from.
I am a new owner of a second hand 6.1 camper king conversion, I love the camper but discovered it had no sound deadening or insulation and shocked by this as I had believed that all camper conversion were done. So what do I do? I can gain access to the side door and rear tailgate but it would be...

Hi
Can I ask, if you have the space, would it be a good idea to have a thin 5-10mm layer of insulation between the metal van floor and the lithium battery and if yes what sort of insulation, would a section of foil backed camping sleep mat be ok?
I’ve got s section of this left in the garage...
...(before the pop top)
Worked well for about two years then got an Aurora LWB from Skyline HQ now we hear nothing from outside with Van-X curtains and pop top down or even just the bed board down for warmth.
I’ve got deadening, sound insulation and PET thermal insulation wherever I could get it in.
Hi Dunc and welcome, have a go at the search function for deadening and insulation as there are some really useful threads on it should find what your looking for.
In short, from factory a kombi has minimal sound deadening and insulation. There is also no such thing as carpet lining from...
I solved a similar issue with 16mm cable on a Victron MPPT.
Once you have stripped back the insulation, slide some heat shrink down the cable and then use a Stanley knife to cut another "ring" of insulation about 3-4mm long by rolling the cable around along the blade.
Slide this ring up the...
It's very useful stuff to augment the insulation in cool boxes as well. Not had Hello Fresh for a while but I keep a few of the insulation packs for this.
Put a blanket over the panels as they will be generating power in the daylight. Keep all the wires insulated until you put each connector on as well to prevent a short
I have been looking at the Premium Gold underfloor insulation from Harrison, the image shows the insulation covering the whole floor.
Obviously there are many opinions on how ply floor should be fitted. How would it be fitted if this method was used?
Thanks
Hi @Greybeard Thanks for your reply.
I was looking at the Dial insulation when I noticed the ceramic roll, my thinking was that if its for high temperature it would work well for insulation.
No other reason behind it just exploring all options. Happy to use the Dial if others have used it and...
All trial and error...we over insulated our floor at 1st, put the Dodo sound deadening and the thermo insulation down..luckily we realised when about to put the ply down ready for the floor we ripped it out, put batons between the ridges and all good..wishing you the best of luck with it, we...
...thanks in advance for your patience, I am a new owner.
i) I am both lazy and cack-handed. Is a company that does pre-cut T6 sound insulation panels? (I am happy to buy the heat insulation on a roll).
ii) Is there a product that offers both sound and heat insulation in one cunning material...
...completely silencing the van and am comfortable with sound deadening around the wheel arches but not much elsewhere and relying on the insulation and carpet to add a bit more silencing properties (compared to no insulation or sounded deadening currently!). I have just been advised that the...
Hi
Does anyone use an internal pop top cover/insulator on a T6, if so how good are they at keeping the heat in when it’s cold weather. Being a newbie I’m not too sure whether it’s worth spending about £300 for one, any suggestions/advice would be fab.
Cheers
