Also fitted my recently bought VW Carbon splitter from @Jon , big thanks to @Bundy88 and @Jwardy23 who got it to me via the...

P0697 sensor reference voltage c fault

Cheers @Loz - found some water ingress in the map plug. Cleaned them off and left overnight (charging battery for good measure). This morning MIL still on needed a reset but afterwards idle restored and no MIL so far…… my fault for changing to LEDs in the rain last week I expect

Tried it without. Much more comfortable with. No problems with water ingress. Cost is unavoidable.

Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

...it had the air intake pipe facing forwards, contrary to installation instructions. Despite it being behind plastic, it allowed water ingress into the heater from puddles or water thrown up from the front wheel. It was a right mess inside which they cleaned up and then serviced and refitted...

    Dripping wet, inside not out.

l don't like the look of those bolts. l don't know the VW van, but if those washers are supposed to seal the bolts from water ingress l would replace them with some rubber washers ASAP

Heater exhaust melting undertray - ideas?

...hole clearance/thermal protection and support/clamping of the exhuast. I wonder if the support/clamping got knocked off during the water ingress which smashed the tray as it's not something that a normal garage would probably think about when fitting the undertray. The problem didn't arise...

    Under Engine Cover Protection?

Reading this old thread and wondering how many starter motor issues relating to water ingress could be avoided… Ps. Got to read this as I was wondering why my T6 wasn’t fitted with a tray… previous owner certainly enjoyed dusty roads and tracks…

No sound from drivers side speakers?

No sound from drivers tweeter either. Would taking door card off be first thing to check or should I take head unit out and unplug the kenwood wiring loom. I thought I’d read that VW fitted the kenwood sub as a option. Bought my van from listers and was a demo van. Seems to have had a few extras...

    Sliding-window leak

...kombi windows don’t leak, however I don’t want inset windows! I’m sure I’ve seen THQ do some kombi windows without an opening window, Jami at a plain panel of glass. Anyone got these or know anything about? I’m tempted to go down this route before this water ingress becomes a bigger problem!

Headlight Range Control issue since replacing ARBs

...fitters seem not to, with members reporting damage caused where the sensor isn’t removed during replacement of the ARB, or refitted to it properly) so check both are sitting as they should - front and rear. Then it’d be wiring and connectors - can you unplug them and check for water ingress?

    dummy window suppliers?

You apply the sealant in a continual bead all but a few inch gap Centre bottom of the panel, so water is not likely to directly ingress behind the glass. Moist air may well end up behind the glass to some extent but even this is not hugely likely as the air pocket between glass and van body...

    Rodent damage

Also it is a harsh environment under there for water ingress. The repair should be done with hermetically sealed ferrules so water doesn’t track up the wires to fill your ecu with water

Sitting water in cavity behind rear wheel arch on drivers side

I would be shocked if it was condensation. It was quite a pool of water. Bearing in mind how much it rained in Manchester yesterday there must be some water ingress from somewhere.

    T6.1 Horn location and replacement

Hi, no issues with the horns. My only annoyance is I can’t do a short toot toot. If I press the horn twice, it just does one toot. Then I have to wait to press it again. A bit daft but hey! Surely they should be waterproof as outside on the engine bay. ? Will keep my eye on them. But Amazon...

    T6.1 Horn location and replacement

Hi, have you had any problems with your horns. Fitted mine back in December as per an earlier post on here. Went to use them a few weeks ago as a warning as someone was backing out without looking and the noise was worse than original. On close inspection the 500 wasn’t working at all and the...

Garages avoiding my Body Control Module fault (U0140) - affecting Start Stop

I’ve been under my van today and exposed that thin green/yellow Lin wire from the alternator plug.. I couldn’t really find a fault in the wire but I’d like to still replace it for a slightly thicker version and run it up to the battery monitor area to bypass most of the length.. just incase I’ve...

    Shunt/battery control module part-no

...causing it to rub… But back to the conduit under the engine bay, the wires are thin, not wrapped well, and not well protected from water ingress and elements, especially as it is just sat on the bottom of the sump behind the bumper grills. So easy to damage over time and for water to also...
