We have used adhesive 20mm closed cell foam insulation with a foil face, It was recommended to us by our local garage. We have insulated it in May 2024 and now, when it is hot, I can feel it keeps our van cool, which is ideal. It is also a vapour barrier. So highly recommend.

What would the insulation achieve? It's not going to keep the battery significantly warmer if you are thinking about the charging below zero issue. If you are thinking about spreading out the load or reducing rattles then I wouldn't advise using any insulation with a metal layer near high...

I don't see the problem ;) What have you got under the ply? How thick is your insulation? Definitely look like they're not sitting low enough.

It will be pulling in on the strengthener where it's bonded. Just run a blade between the panel and the strengthener to cut the bonding and the tension will release. You can reseal with teroson panel bond or leave it as you have already insulated it.
