Tips for sliding door channels/runners maintenance?

Prior to being converted to a camper my T28 appears to have been used by a builder whom at one point had cement in the cargo area. I say this as the lower sliding door connector was very dirty and with a small amount of persuasion I was able to clean it off. Having read about rust in the...

I think I've made a mistake with the van I'm about to buy - remap

As mentioned above Air Con is difficult to retro fit. I would look for a van with it on already. This one doesnt.

    Maximum offset - 20" 9J Wheel , 275/40/20 tyres , lowered 50mm

I wouldn't run 275/40/20 at all, generally too big and too much above the standard OEM radius/circumference. If you had a T28/T30 running a 255/40 Front and 265/40 Rear on a square 9" set up is very nice and allows the van gearing to behave normally. There's a good chance the 275/40's will rub...

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Swapped in a rear T32 ARB onto my T28 Camper. Nice OEM upgrade, and “free” as they came off my Sportline when I fitted H&R’s. Front soon when uprated droplinks arrive.

Looking for a T6.1 but unsure which spec?

Dave, do you know if they are T28,T30 or T32? Suspension is a standard upgrade for many folk, lose that arch gap a bit! The bigger wheels make a big difference visually! You really need to get a full spec on each van to give you and us more to go on! Looks like the Startline with the big wheels...

    Acquiring a camper - Eu5 5spd or Eu6 6spd??

Agreed, and bear in mind that the 5 speed gearbox is known to have weaknesses, the 6 speed is much stronger.

Camper conversion electrics system- does this look right?

Hi all and thanks in advance for any comments/info! I was hoping someone could give me an idea of if we've nailed the core components of the electrical system for what we want it for, and give me a ballpark idea of paying to have it fitted, so I can decide whether to do that or to do some/all...

Thoughts over this Campervan being worth the advertised price?

Hi, It would be great to get some thoughts on whether this van is good value for money. I have been to see it and have driven it, everything seems in good working order and the conversion looks great quality. I am just questioning the mileage and age of the van. Also how important do you think...

    Day van or full camper?

Great info on this forum :). Currently living in West London for a few years (due to work, not choice ;)) and I think we're finally going to take the plunge and get a V6/6.1. Our plan is to replace our car and have the Van as the daily driver, we want to just find somewhere during the week...

3 weeks in Europe, mid September!

Definitely top up your Adblu to check that it recalibrates as ours was showing 2500 miles range which went to a 650 mile countdown and orange spanner sign midway to Isle de Rey. This was on top of what turned out to be a cam position sensor fault that had come on as we left our first stop in...

    Camper van weight

So I have a T28 6.1 converted to a camper. Changed the wheels from the standard VW Claytons to 18 inch Wolfrace. No other changes to suspension or anything else. Can this be uprated weight wise without any other modifications?

Help! Returned from garage with Smaller Top mounts

Van was in to have the rear springs and shocks swapped for T32 ones (Saggy T28 Camper). I hadn't chance to check underneath before it went in but I supplied a set of new top mounts with it, wit the caveat of if they are different don't swap them for now. However he;s gone and swapped them any...

Poor traction off-road with my camper

I can’t say I’ve heard of Arivo Ultra ARZ4 but my initial concern might be your suspension; campers often sit heavier at the back, causing the front to understeer, and your photo seems to show that.

Upgraded ARB and rear suspension- Cost benefit

    Thanks, that’s good to know.

Am I paying too much? 2017 highline 31k miles

Thank you @DaveD , I maybe overthinking. I have had another look on auto trader and I can't not find another t6 highline at this mileage for the same money, the key factor is the "no vat". Which makes a difference of £4-5k for me. I remember that I really loved modifying my car's back in my...

    Sold 2016 T28 102PS SWB Camper w/poptop. £30k

Our T6 journey is now completed (at least for now- we've moved away before). We are moving to a small narrow motorhome, primarily for the onboard shower and toilet. We wildcamp (a lot) and the Mrs is fed up of my showering at the back of the van in my undercrackers all year around As you will...
