    Insulation

Just about to start insulating and sound deadening my van. What's the consensus of opinion about using Silent Coat 2mm and Dodo Thermo Liner 10mm on the floor. I've bought enough to cover the sides with 30% with Silent Coat and 100% with Thermo liner, but is it necessary to line the floor 100%...

    How good is my insulation?

...but having used it a couple of times I've noticed it gets really hot inside when the sun's on it. Is that normal - how cool should good insulation keep it?? Good vanshade blinds, down all day. Thermal shades over the front windows - sun coming from behind the van most of the day anyway. And...

Keep OEM rubber load floor or remove and ply line/insulate/sound deaden/carpet floor??

...a 'reputable' conversion specialist and they have advised me to keep the OEM spongy rubber floor in the rear without bothering to add any insulation or sound deadening underneath as it does an ok job as it is and isn't worth the extra money. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on whether...

Anyone have Hello Fresh? The insulation pouches that the food gets delivers in is mounting up here. Do you think it would be any use for the van? It’s not recyclable and seems a waste to throw out.

    Ply floor and insulation installation

...some sound deadening and insulating. We only really use the van in summer, and it's often warm enough just with side wall and door insulation that we end up opening a window for the night. If I was using the van in winter and had a heater installed, I'd insulate the floor. Down to...

I hope someone can clarify something about the insulation on the floor. I have been reading and following a lot "The Van Conversion Bible" (Low and Comley) so far. Under bonnet insulation - mouse damage

I've had a mouse in the van and it's chewed up the under bonnet insulation that sits over the battery. I presume this is just sound damping? Are replacements readily available? Peppermint oil, chilli infused wiring tape and traps have been employed.

    Mobiframe Composite Flooring System

If you notice in the installation video, they DO actually install the flooring WITH the floor insulation actually fitted. This seems to contradict the narrative but makes sense to me, I wouldn't like to have to try to peel the silver-backed insulation back off again!

    FabWorx

You’ll be fine. Wood’s a good insulator anyway, once you've got your floor down. As aforementioned, the sliding frame from Fabworx needs to bolt directly to the bare floor, then you build up on top of that. I’ve got 9mm ply round the edges, 5mm ply over the frame and 12mm laminate over that...
