I wonder if this kind of response from the DVSA will begin a clamp down around things like ad-blue delete’s: Aftermarket tuner fined for fitting illegal exhaust mods - what this means for your car
Hey @LZM
Sorry to hear about the second adblue cover.
Have taken a photo of the invoice from when I purchased the replacement cover from local vw dealer.
This was for a swb t30 T6.1.
Part numbers are on top left hand side of invoice.
Hope you get it sorted soon.
Adblue will only ever give you headaches. Making an engine that produces smoke smoke less doesn’t work out well that’s like having a bonfire in the garden and then saying I don’t want any smoke to come out of it it’s quite hard to do. Maybe just don’t have a fire in the first place. I reckon if...
I‘m closing in on needing to add some Ad-blue - had the van nine months and it’s down to 1600 miles of range.
Didn't need it before as my last van was Euro5 so I’m an ad-blue newbie.
Is there a (perceived) difference in quality buying it from Bum Bargains like there is with buying supermarket...
Just had new clutch/ flywheel dual-mass before I mapped first time , only adblue delete .
Was running 185bhp /470
Running great, before pump in tank went .
got a call last month from my AD and after a bit of a wait picked this up it’s the Deepsea Deep blue I love blue and big watches so to me it’s the perfect watch .
That’s not cheap either, I did ring a few places and it would be cheaper just to get the issue sorted at a main stealer, also an adblue delete is apparently pretty complicated to achieve and has all sorts of negative knock on affects.
Daft question. Do I presume if my 2016 t6 doesn’t have obvious adblue cap near diesel fill point, I don’t need to worry about this?
Vehicle is a highline with ‘blue motion’ technology. But I understand that doesn’t necessarily mean much specifically from googling?!
There is an early T6 euro 5 pre ad-blue but isn’t ulez compliant same as early T5
Tsi is obvs petrol so best of both worlds
They didn’t run for long so are pretty rare now but they are out there
Don’t know if it’s the same for a t6.1 but my t6 will throw up errors if the adblue is over filled. Adblue is corrosive so the level sensor is located outside the tank and cannot “ see” adblue in the filler neck of the tank. When you drive the system thinks the adblue level is not going down so...
Except removing any/all of those things is illegal.
Egr and adblue are just software solutions.
Dpf involves physical work in altering the dpf internals. If it gets discovered and fails it’s mot you’ll have to shell out a couple of grand for a new one. I’d leave the dpf alone.
My woes continue after a complete flush of the coolant system. The mechanic took it for a long drive and is convinced that adblue is mixing with the coolant and creating a sludge.
My van is a 2018 2.0tdi 102bhp with only 79k on the clock. There is nothing on the forum that suggests this is...
When you say "the max the tank will take" do you mean the maximum that the MFD is asking for, or you brim fill the Ad-Blue tank until it won't take anymore?
Unfortunately diesels have become over completed to try and reduce the emissions. I personally would not buy another EU6 car with ad-blue. My T6 and my Audi A3 are both 150tdi. But the Audi is the very last to be made before they had ad-blue and has been much more reliable than my T6 with it...
Another question if I may, on one of the earlier pages it was queried about whether a poster had had the ignition on, dash lights on but engine off, when refilling the Ad-blue.
Does this make any difference? Does it enable the system to recognise the tank has been topped up or refilled...
When I followed the instructions on the MFD I had an issue with it not registering what I put in. So after reading earlier posts on the forum I tried filling the tank completely - and this has worked since.
I’ve had the
Euro 5 140 six speed manual
Euro 6 150 six speed manual
And now the later 204 dsg sportline
There all great engines the 140 is meant to be most reliable as no ad-blue nonsense
My 150 was great no problems and now I love the 204 dsg it does have a lot of grunt and I don’t mooch...
