    102PS - want more power

I think a remap on a 5 speed maybe okay if they don't go mad on the torque.

    102PS - want more power

Welcome! That's a stunning looking van and I like those wheels. But anyway, to answer your question, you should be very careful before increasing the power, the 5 speed box is not as strong as the 6 speed box and some remapping companies won't remap vans with the 5 speed box. I know that some...

    Remap 102PS

Not that I'm aware of, but from what I've read it doesn't stand up well to excessive torque - hence be careful if remapping.

    Remap 102PS

Thanks mate, but id rather stay slow safe and hassle free, if it was straightforward with no problems itd be a no brainer, is the 5 speed box known for problems even without remapping?

    Remap 102PS

Ah ok, looks like id better lose some weight then, thanks for the replys, yes 5 speed manual. Doing alot less distance from home than when i had a 170 custom, so not the end of the world, but if the oprion was there to remap,id have gone for it. The T6 had good added options though, so wasnt...

    Remap 102PS

Which gearbox do you have? The 5-speed manual box is a known weakness, so do your research before remapping if you have one of those. Have you searched the forum? https://www.t6forum.com/search/1225134/?q=remap+102&o=relevance

Am I paying too much? 2017 highline 31k miles

VED and MOT should be the same although you should check what VED category it is in now as some vehicles were wrongly registered when new and subsequent owners have been caught out. I don't think the DVLA will change an existing vehicle. Insurance is a minefield and requires lots of quotes to...

Am I paying too much? 2017 highline 31k miles

Hi, thank you, It is the 102 bhp version, 5 speed.. I have done a little reading on t28 Vs t32, from my understanding, the t32 has different springs? And maybe a thinker anti roll bar, and bigger brakes. However, it might be more road tax and a different category for MOT and insurance. I...

    110 5 speed vs 150 6 speed

I have a 21 plate 110bhp 5 speed box T28 Campervan . The 5th gear is very motorway/dual carriage way oriented in my opinion you spend more time in 3rd or 4th in normal driving particularly rolling roads with bends 5th is just too long. Torque isn’t dramatic either but sufficient enough though...

    110 5 speed vs 150 6 speed

My old T5 was a 102 ps and 5 speed. Had it for 13 years. I originally remapped it to 140 and it drove fine. Sat on the motorway at 80mm fine. I once drove from Rochester in Kent to Holland then Belgium and got home and still had a weeks fuel left in it as it was so good on fuel. The engine...

    What would you upgrade first?

Keep it “as is” and spend the money on diesel & use the van. You can bolt as much bling onto it as you like, but it’ll still only take you to the same places. P.s. if you stick daft wheels on it & slam it to the floor, you probably won’t even get to where you can now

    What would you upgrade first?

We have a LWB High Top 2016 T6 T32 Trendline Bluemotion (ex panel van) 5 speed (late T5.1 engine 102ps 75kW) We get between 40 and 45 miles to the gallon. It pulls well on hills. Unfortunately it is speed limited to 71mph. We would not risk changing this by having it remapped. The ride quality...

    What would you upgrade first?

I've got a 2015 T6 T28 Trendline Bluemotion (ex panel van) 5 speed (late T5.1 engine) The van was converted to a camper sometime in 2017/18. It has an underslung gas tank and gas heating. Hob, sink, grill, fridge, pop top. Two captain’s chairs. Leisure battery and 250W solar panel that also...

Yes, I think I'd only consider this if the performance of the van was really annoying me!

    Green and clueless

Personally I wouldn’t re-map, especially if it’s a 5 speed gearbox. Modern engines are complex enough without upsetting the status quo with dodgy aftermarket mods. You should spend a few hours searching and reading through the vast repository of information here at your fingertips. Some people...

What are the insurance implications of a remap? Is there any impact on servicing/wear on the engine?

    The Vehicle Tuner - Warrington

The Vehicle Tuner - Vehicle Tuning Warrington I'd been considering a map for a while but had an issue with clutch judder which was putting me off pulling the trigger. My mechanic wasn't sure it was a worn clutch/DMF with only 60k on the clock so we tried a few things with no luck before...

    Adblue range on MFD

Btw I filled my Adblue at Christmas from a pump at a local garage so had done maybe 500 - 700 miles before the message appeared. I feel like the vw t6 vans are made of putty what with the warnings about gearboxes and clutches on my 5 speed 102bhp (especially with the remap) and the electronic...

I think I've made a mistake with the van I'm about to buy - remap

The 102 hp manual is a perfectly fine engine, don’t dismiss it , you’ll find you can live without remapping, but not aircon!
