...historic dtc's with faded freeze frame data, lurking somewhere in the ecu measuring values/data in a vcds mode that I hadn't found.
The above P20EE dtc counted 1 on the first part of my journey and added 2 more instances on the return. I have not yet had the emissions light come on, or any...
...- the same as VCDS aggressive mode. Confusing? - yes indeed it is!
I guess there is not much logic - except the emission light caused by P20EE. The emission light would mean permanent emission fault and thus needs attention.
No, not really. For VW to participate in any cost-sharing, their...
...class van, the update falls into the 'if deemed necessary category'. When I bought it in Jan 2022 there was a historic/no freeze frame data P20EE dtc showing in the first vcds scan I did, suggesting this fault had occurred while owned by the previous owner, presumably it wouldn't have shown...
It was a mandatory update for M1 class vehicles - Transporters VIN starting WV2. For the rest of Transporters it was available if deemed necessary.

Hello all. I get the P20EE 00 DTC, but no emission's warning light - yet.

So, just for info really. Hooked up Carista, 2 fault codes came up; P20EE and P204F.
I did a bit of digging and it looks like it’s to do with the adblue? I’ve topped up the adblue and it rose from 3000 mile left to 5000 mile to go. So it’s registering something or other.
I’ve reset the codes...
I would guess the relevant with flashing glow plug light is P0299 00. The NOx-emission related codes P20EE and P204F can even be ancient ones - depending also on engine's software version.
In general P0299 00 - Boost Pressure Regulation - Control Range Not Reached
A lot more information is...
...system performance bank 1 -P204F-00 (096). Malfunction-intermittent-not confirmed tested since memory clear
31103 SCR NOx Catalyst bank 1. P20EE (104) efficiency too low -intermittent- tested since memory clear
I thought I'd put the whole thing on there , I had the van into my local garage...

31103=P20EE
Not exactly a fault - just notification of elevated NOx emissions. Possibly needs a software update to "fix" the issue. Please post "Detailed ECU...
VW diagnostic tool (ODIS) decodes the dates correctly. The recorded odometer reading should help, too?
(Many of) the ECU faults "fade away" in approx. 300 miles if the fault won't resurface. E.g. P20EE is one of those.
True - it's not a recall for this engine. Instead the update is categorised as "available" - especially when customer is experiencing the P20EE fault.
Unfortunately VCDS does not have software loading capabilitity. Other tools are needed - e.g. ODIS at VW, or VCP VCPSYSTEM ® :: VCP CAN...
