New to the forum and like loads started sound deadening and insulating the van. Full panel van atm. Just about to insulate the rear ns quarter and seen a few drips on outer skin (arrow) got a light out and seen a little puddle between rear arch and light cluster. Bit concerned as no idea how...
So guys,
Another weekend, another HUGE milestone;
Rear window is IN!
Sound-Deadening rear DONE
Insulation using that 100mm plastic bottle insulation is DONE!!
Looks good - did you just measure the 18mm ply joist sections up as you did it, and stick them down or did you already have a list of template measurements to cut? Just wondering as I reckon I'll be doing it like you.
It's got the carpeted panels over top, but no vent. Luckily I'm not putting a full length kitchen in, so can put a vent in next to it.
I take it they get hot?
There's no wool insulation next to the CTEK
Sorry to jump on this older thread. I sadly have a 1D0 T6.1 but I noticed when insulating my van that I have a wiring loom like the one in the image above behind the passenger side rear wheel arch. Do the 1D0 vans still come with the wiring but not the module?
No one knows?
No, unless you understand the difference between the earthing needed when running from an inverter Vs EHU don't mix the 240v system and keep them separate - one set of sockets for EHU and one for Inverter.
You'll notice that the function is often called something like UPS - it's only really...
I am not sure which one is the best one but I have used the same stuff and paid around £50-60 for the same amount, It was from www.carinsulation.co.uk website, I can try to find the product name for you or you can have a look yourself. Hope it will save you some money. Not sure if they post to...
Track seats are different, not sure what seat you have there but if they are Unwin rails it's likely they are fitted after the floor as they overlap the floor. Can't quite tell from the image. Tracks we fit are taller and give enough space for insulation etc if needed
Nice!
It took a while for my windows to go up fully without triggering the anti trap but I have the insulated double glazed glass - after a week or so it was completely fine and back to normal.
...a frayed wire going into G83 Temperature Sensor.
The wire hadn’t snapped and was still attached but must have been shorting. I put some insulation tape round it and put it back together and all good so far.
The fan is not coming on now from cold and the start stop on the engine works now...
Can you power the electric blanket using the jackery? How many nights can you get out of a charge? Never considered this before as I assumed it would quickly deplete.
If you watch this video (it's for a car but shows things very clearly) it's a wider to hole to ensure that the fuse stays centred on the insulated terminal bolt - the bolt is M8 but the shoulder at the bottom is much wider
I am going to sound deaden and insulate the rear and not fussed about carpeting at this stage.
Is there a panel that covers this area on both sides. Seems strange it has nothing there and not sure why. Looks like there is holes possibly for clips
...than stock, next new speakers but first "kitchen"!
Possibly a silly question, would it not have been better to put the deadening and insulation (granted its not being used as insulation) to the metalwork rather than the plastic arch liner?
Surely this makes very little difference on the...
