    Diesel heater

From what I’ve read Camperking don’t insulate or sound deaden their vans, it’s well discussed on the Forum. This saves the converter a significant amount of time and money while presenting the same appearance to the customer. I have a fully insulated SWB van, with the windows cracked open 900w...

    Insulation - Earthwool?

Personally I’d use the multilayer foil type insulation.

    Replacement running board light

Looking at that earth wire, it looks heavily corroded. I would be cutting the wire closer to the lamp and stitching a wire between the cut wire and the good side of the multi plug and see if it works. If so, insulate it and pop it back in

Insulation of T6 2016 Transporter Panel Van (creating a sealled cocoon

It certainly would be better insulated than most with that method. However I wouldn’t want to be without my heater even in a well wrapped van.

Electrical nightmare - RHS - speed sensor - SOLVED

Hi Thom, I used a wire stripping tool to gently split the insulation, had to be very gentle as the wires are so thin, tested using the exposed wire and then covered up with electrical tape

Ply Floor - Glue Or Screw

How did this go? We are doing something similar and wondering whether we should cut squares of the harrison trim gold matting to go between the batons, or just put it under or over the batons in one piece?

    Project Arian

...for now!! Decided to head up to Worcester to see West Midlands camper conversions yesterday to get the van sound deadening, thermal insulation and the fleece insulation. They did offer to travel down and fit at the home address but I thought a day out in Worcester would be in order. After...

    Out And About Campers

I had heard this re Bilbo's insulation etc, but have been told otherwise too. It's something I'll need to check with them, we have been to see them, and I thought they said they did it. There's a lot I like about them but I'm not sure about the rear seats and bed, they just look like foam and...

OEM Head Unit failing - repair or go aftermarket?

Well the connection to app connect has also died so I'm booked in to get a Kenwood installed at Absolut5 next month. Having new speakers and sound insulation done while I'm at it :):)

    Diesel heater

Had our 2kW Planar/Autoterm on last evening and it was effectively warming the van and the driveaway awning - fully insulated van and with the door shut you can’t have it on full for long unless you want a sauna!

How much dodo mat should I use?

You certainly don't need to 100% cover every panel with the deadening stuff. All you need is enough to stop / dampen the reverberations. Insulation will need better/ complete coverage Watch these videos from Greg Virgoe.

Part conversion - how to store ‘stuff’?

We do have one anchor point but it’s all been insulated / carpeted etc so I guess that causes an extra challenge

    Insulation, necessary would you say?

Thanks for the advice and replies all. Final question........ 2 brand new conversions. One is £2k cheaper but is a 23 plate, no insulation or sound deadening, rock n roll bed, 20" alloys but not VW ones. - Indium grey (original colour choice) The other is a 24 plate, RIB bed, fully insulated...

The Good The Bad and The Ugly

...mech for the door catches at the bottom and cautiously added to the top ones with tissue to catch excess. If the internals are wedged with insulation it can possibly affect the mechanism, I know when I had mine apart for insulating that it wouldn't open when everything was back in place. If...

    Fogstar Drift 12v 230Ah Seatbase battery -- "How I Done It" --

Because that won't work, the bolt needs to be insulated otherwise it just bypasses the fuse?

Has anyone used Wickes thermawrap or B&Q’s recycled plastic insulation?

I used both, Diall for internal insulation (on top of sound deadening and thermoliner), and the Thermowrap for a DIY pop top cover. I wouldn't use the Thermowrap inside.
