The fog lamp unit are not sealed so whatever bulb you fit they will need to be waterproof to some degree.. I had to conformal coat and silicon seal my Switchback H11s for Autobeam.. no problems since then, but this isn't trouble free!
Used to jet wash the window seals until doing it trashed the lower door speakers. They were full of rust from wateringress.
Use all purpose cleaner, let it dwell then brush it off

They advised that the used vehicle warranty specifically excludes leaks and perished seals. It was the seal that perished causing the wateringress.
Not had any issues since replacing.
Okay so - having a new seal fitted soon for drivers door as worn and a bit naff - vw refusing replace on warranty but hey ho. I did fit a v-dubs one but actually would rather keep it all OEM.
