Hi, is there anyone on here that lives in Jersey that has had their engine remapped on-island? I have read a decent bit on problems for the gearbox on a 5speed 102 after being remapped...obviously because of the current situation it is not possible for me to get to the mainland for a Pendle...
Hello everyone! Our family is about to gain 2 new members as my fiancee is 2 weeks away from having our twins. With the two we already have, we need the room and flexibility of a Shuttle.
I've found a well priced 2017 102bhp with 38k on it that is in great condition all round, including leather...
I have a 102 five speed, euro 5
I already have it remap, but it’s a really poor remap
The torque isn’t controlled very well at all, in 3rd 4th and 5th above 1500rpm it try’s to put too much power threw the fly wheel and causes it to vibrate
I know it’s there so take it steady with the power...
hi every one I still have my t5.1 2.0 litre and it is better on fuel than this t6 I have just purchased both 102 both 5speed and theres 137.000 miles on it compared to 45.000 miles infact the t4 is better than both on a 2.5 engine I will get the t6 remapped once the 3 years warranty is up
Well you have 6 gears so you have one of the bigger engines, if the 5speed box that is known for being a bit weak generally the 6 speed is a lot tougher
Unfortunately the most common scenario is DMF issues but it could be engine related and a consequence of the remap ??
I have a 102 kombi and live in a similar area to you.
I got it remapped by EcoTune in Glasgow. I got them to limit the torque and power potential of this engine as it’s only a 5speed box.
They did exactly that and the van is now a perfect blend of torque and sensible performance.
Their work is...
True, however my argent is why was my Euro 5 t5.1, same loads, same roads, same tyres/wheel, same fuel, getting 35-40mpg over 150k and the euro 6 t6 struggles to better 29mpg.
Remember that we are driving what is basically a 2 tonne (often more) rectangular brick that makes no attempt at all at being aerodynamic. It's never going to be great on fuel consumption.
I'm in a euro 5, T32, 140 manual 6 speed, remapped to 170. A 50/50 mix of motorway and rural A/B roads...
So as mentioned above Stan (as he's affectionately known by my better half) had been converted to a Kombi with the cushioned floor and triple bench seat, he'd also been carpet lined, in hindsight this wasn't the best way to go, we were thinking with the carpet lining and windows already in place...
The most common tuning boxes alter the common rail fuel pressure and boost pressure signals back to the ECU, some systems also amend the fuel timing signal which is usually through the camshaft position sensor. To be fair to SOME of the companies that produce these boxes, a lot of work goes in...
Thanks. I've been reading the forums with interest, it really is both a minefield and treasure-trove
The possible 5speed gearbox issues are my concern. Like you say, it's probably all down to the type of remap really. Hopefully I can get that info
From what i have read, the 5speed gearbox is a weak point when it comes to remaps. If the map increases the torque to much it can cause problems. Unless its been done professionally on a dyno like @pendle do it i would be very weary.
Plenty of info on remaps and everything else you need...
Hi guys
First time posting here and currently hoping to purchase a very nice T6 camper conversion. As such, looking for some advice please guys?
The vehicle is a 5speed 102hp remapped to 150hp. It has covered approx 20k miles and the remap has been in for the majority of those miles. There...
Welcome to the forum.
Just to throw my tuppence in, I've got a fully converted 102 and I'm delighted with it.
It's not my daily but I wouldn't mind if it was. It's got plenty enough power to get up the hills and I don't find myself having to change down too much to get up them. The gearing of...
I have a 102 5speed and it's absolutely fine BUT, it's not my daily drive. After a weekend in the van I often forget about 6th in the other cars so that shows its easy to drive and you get used to it quickly, but as a daily, I think I'd struggle for a while, but would eventually get used to it...
Its probably mentioned elsewhere but could you briefly run through the process of buying and installing on of these?
Is it a plug and play job? Therefore possibly delivered by post or would you need the van?
How would you alter the map? What map options are there?
Go REVO and get the SPS unit so you can alter the map to one that suits your needs. If you are local to us we even offer a 30 day money back guarantee. Torque need to be limited on the 102, which is basically a de-tuned 140 but with the 5speed box- which can take the torque of the 140’s 6...
