Hi, I have a tailgate mounted Thule Wandaway bike rack for 2 cycles. I think it is brilliant and would definitely recommend it. However, the 2 cycles we have are e-bikes which are quite heavy. Lifting on is not such a problem but putting them back after a strenuous ride is not so easy! Folding...
Hi, I have this bike rack and am looking to get it powder coated. Does anyone have experience of taking apart/getting all the plastic off? ..and then back on again. will i need any special tools for the job?
Is this just on the tailgate mounted Thule 4 bike rack? And then in theory, you could get another 3 small bikes below on a row at hitch rack? Or is that just asking for too much
Hi, i’m intending on fitting a reversing camera and will have a towbar bike rack in the future. I was thinking of getting a tailgate reverse light with camera inbuilt. Anyone done this and can you see over the bikes? If so any recommendations on manufacturers, can only find an MZOrange one...
To be fair, space is not an issue as this isn't going to be a conventional camper conversion.
Purely for carting bikes around and a place to get changed, have a brew post ride with a full width bench seat against the bulkhead in the rear doubling up as a bike rack for transport, a bit like THIS. ;)
I get there’s a few variables but as a standard set up without lowering the van etc you’d of thought that as a minimum all bikeracks would clear the tailgate .
The height of a bike shouldnt be be a concern if it tilts so the bike height expands horizontal to the van .
And buying a 2 bike...
If they've brought a van then they're likely tooled up and basic rack locks would be broken in about 5 seconds.
The rack locks (even there best ones) aren't meant to protect your bike from people with bolt cutters or vans - IE people who've come with tools for the job.
They're meant to defeat...
Has anyone had a full size roof rack fitted and care to give some opinions?
There's a couple of options that I can find, without spending a small fortune:

I was thinking that for my VW t6 camper.
Could this work on the fiamma bike rackhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Carrier-Waterproof-Reinforced-Suitable-152x61x61cm/dp/B09B9WCFH3, thinking of getting a bike rack
Yes, I have 1250N on which lifts my tailgate + bike rack, and I have to hang on it to pull it down. I got the stronger struts with the intention of fitting the mud tracks to the bike carrier, but not actually done that yet.
We have recently bought a new to us T6.1 and had the dealership fitted an OEM bike rack. We have noticed that the two longer attaching arms are a lot looser than the shorter two. When the tailgate opens they fall and touch the rear window. If I forget and not put them back they stop the rear...
But... A passing by opportunistic thief won't know there's flaw in the design of the Atera Strada DL3 and start taking the rack apart. They'll try the clamp, and quickly move on because it's "locked".
And yes, it is locked - very lightly - but it is locked.
If you think a rack that's bolted...

Hey all, new here :waving:
I've been looking for a van that will allow me to seat 4 plus have 2 full size motocross bikes in the back.
A tall order it seems...! But I think the T6 LWB may allow me to do this?
If anyone has any pics or can confirm the above would work that would be fantastic...
What’s the deal with bikeracks that clear the tailgate? It’s like I’m asking for a flying motorcycle —finding a straight answer is impossible! Honestly, it’s baffling that this is even a question. You’d think all tilting bikeracks would naturally avoid smacking into the tailgate, but nope...
I found the inner bike always touched the back of the van, even when it was a kids MTB. I had an old glove specifically to go on the end of the bar (cheap tilting four-bike rack from Halfords). On the new van, we have a tailgate mounted rack, so the bars go over the roof.
