...and they now sell the units as a package. I like the minimalistic look of them. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the DIY kits. They actually come assembled ready to scribe to the Van. Whereas Evo units are total flatpack
Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.
It was nice toast.
You need to keep it on low heat and keep an eye on it. I also moved the slices about so the edges got toasted too.
It’s just a single slice it does but packs away flat.
I’ve seen others that do 3 or 4 slices at a time on a gas stove but not sure if they work as well...
And see here about getting yourself a jump pack.
So you can get yourself going in seconds if you run the starter flat.....

.
it will work. . . . but wont run for very long. .
and the recharge speed will be very slow.
so not ideal for a van. . . . but will work ( or at least till it runs flat)

the spec shows 4x internal 12v batterys in a 48v pack.
but with only 9AH capacity.

I think this was my 4th car (and 4th mini!), a 1997 Mini Cooper Sport pack with 13" gold minilites and a proper loud exhaust. Brilliant thing.
Then a number of years later, loved this thing but sold it as the fuel economy was ruinous and I could see some massive bills coming my way. Subaru...
Just bought one of these after using an old round camping one that we got in the middle of Lidl years ago.

Build quality is incredible for the money paid for it and it folds flat (massive winner for van packing)!
The other way around this is to use a jump pack, booster pack connected to the flat battery....
Then connect the battery charger....
It will detect the booster pack voltage and then start charging at the correct rate...
This is a quick hack for super flat lifepo4 batteries.... Where they shut...
We have an elderly labrador, we have wide plate side boards on our van to give him an extra step up! A trolley jack is the only thing that will go under! Even they were a pain for the guys fitting new tyres! When the old boy pops off then I can re-visit proper side bars and alternative jacks! I...
Great endorsement. After a week in Ireland camping and waiting at the ferry port to return our t6 failed to start. Low battery! - completely out of the blue. Got a jump to get on the boat, so will definitely be getting a GB70 for trips now. Cheers
lol . . .
i was Genuinely surprised it didn't work.
the jump pack dumped all its power into the flat battery . . . . and that was that. - dead flat also. ( so we had a flat car battery and a flat jump pack !! )
reading the marketing bumf it should have worked - but real life, cold winter...
Hi Euge,
You don’t happen to know the part number for the 1.5 flat crimp for the female socket? Appears to be three all 1.5mm wide and struggling to work out the correct pin for the socket. THANKS
@Panch think flatpack furniture cnc cut lightweight ply. They do need a good sanding. Ran out of light today to investigate fixing them to the lashing points. Will update when I sus it out.
You can turn the auto front head lights off via the switch. And disable driving lights with handbrake on via VCDS... (A must tweek for camping)
...
The battery will go flat eventually without any top-up charge over a weekend.
So look at adding a small 5-10A charger for starter.(if EHU...
How easy are these kits to install?
I presume I would need to build in a solid floor.?
The kit itself looks very way to assemble, but what about fitting to the van? Would it be just brackets to the side frame and floor?

Yip same with me. Regularly use this feature. I have seen where the Noco does not have 2 bars of power in it left, it struggling to boost, I then posted that it took more than 5 mins charging on other vehicle before it would jump..... I can confirm that my battery would be flat as a pancake...
Floor done now. So many layers, levels and bevels to get to a flat plane. Only front and rear edge trim and rear threshold to do.
Caravelle step is in, and the light works. I think it needs a bit of packing underneath.
