    Off Grid help.

It was never planned but yesterday we purchased an Opus Trailer camper. Never thought I would own a trailer but it's fantastic build and ideal for our family needs. It comes with a hook up and leisure battery setup, but I need to adapt this quickly as we camp off grid without hook up the...

    For Sale 2020 T28 110PS Highline Campervan. £57,995

I agree that there's nothing inherently wrong with a 110ps T28 campervan, but I'd expect an inverter to power those 240v outlets on "an off-grid adventure tourer". Perhaps I missed reference to one in the description?

Inverter recommendation for 240v 1.65amp load (Bosch ebike Battery Charger BPC3400)

Inverter recommendation for 240v 1.65amp load (Bosch ebike Battery Charger BPC3400) I've got an ebike coming this week and would like to be able to charge it off grid. It has a 750Wh battery. I'll post a picture of the charger.

Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 Portable Power Station

I've got 1, love it. WiFi connection is a game changer for me with my use case. I have it buried under the bed so with the WiFi/Bluetooth I can turn it on. I use it as my off grid 240v (I have a hard wired extension lead) and I also have a 20A leisure battery charger I plug in to top up the van...

t6 t32 Is it possible (or worth it) to combine leisure battery systems?

Why did you feel the need to add a second LB to start with? My factory LB can run my van quite happily (fridge, USB points, lights). I have upgraded recently so I can run 240v off grid and in the end just brought a power station to keep things simple and can take it with us if/when we swap vans.

    Leisure Battery vs Power Bank

My Clayton LPS1500 lets me run fully off grid with access to 240v (upto 1500W). BUT with a fridge running you are looking at 2 days, 3 days max IF you arent recharging it via driving or solar

Off-Grid set up, not that great!

Your inverter is putting a pretty extreme load on the 12v system. If you want to be off grid with 240v heating loads like that you need more capacity and at least double batteries, as you are finding single batteries cannot supply the current.

Off-Grid set up, not that great!

Just to check on the fridge - it is a compressor fridge? Assuming so, your 12v loads are a pretty typical off-grid set-up so shouldn’t be an issue assuming an adequate recharging strategy (usually a DC-DC and preferably solar too). The inverter running 240v loads is another matter, it’s...

Van electrics upgrade - Shopping list sense check?

The Renogy inverter is fine. If its powerful enough for your requirements. Maybe just fit it to a dedicated socket/s And have your standard EHU feed Via CU to different socket/s Or as @roadtripper suggested above. Use the inverter exclusively to run the sockets and have your EHU power a...

    T6 camper wiring diagram

...size and power and types of charging source. Their placement and power will drive cable size and fuses. For example, no need for a mains charger if you are off grid or no need for an inverter if you don’t need 240v off grid. No inverter means a smaller battery, means smaller gauge cables etc...

Lithium LifePo4 12v Batteries - Time For An Upgrade?

I don’t know if this is the best thread to ask the question. I have a ‘traditional’ AGM leisure electrics install with a 130 w solar panel on the roof. It gives me 12v power off EHU and 240v on EHU. If I replaced the AGM installed under the drivers seat with a LiFePO4 would I need to add/change...

Twin passenger V Single passenger captain seat.

Thanks. Thats just a 240v extension lead sitting on the unit. I use it for the tv when on EHU. Tv is 12v also for off grid. Think my set up is pretty standard with a leisure battery on a split charge system with the addition of a solar panel on the roof. I can run the fridge, lights water...

    T6.1 Leisure battery and inverter

Yeah - if you want to use 240v stuff on an inverter AND be off grid for more than a day or 2, you really a big-ass set up in every way: Battery, solar, DC-DC. Real world example, on my euro trip last year I stayed at a campsite which was a fairly shaded spot. I was there for 3 nights, or 2.5...

    Leisure Battery vs Power Bank

So my factory fit LB is now 7 years old and had another hard winter with van in storage. Was struggling last year so suspect it's on its last legs now. Been looking at replacing with a lithium but under seat placement restricts size. Also would need to upgrade B2B (plus add inverter). All...

Twin passenger V Single passenger captain seat.

Thanks very much. Seems a similar setup to mine; I am debating just going for a off grid power unit that can be carried rather than lithium just so I don't have to change lights etc. With regards to your captain seats; are they OEM? they look like the ones from Camper Beds & Seats Are they...

Adding solar to existing set up?

Just buy a ridge monkey that does brilliant toasties on the hob, excellent mess-free fried eggs and loads of other stuff too. In 3 years we’ve never plugged anything into our 240v sockets in the van. Adding solar should be easy and it’s a no brainer really if you are going to be off grid for...

t6 t32 Is it possible (or worth it) to combine leisure battery systems?

The larger power packs are an option for some situations but the OP has a diesel heater and they tend to need permanent power which those types of devices generally can't provide. It's an alternative to a fixed inverter though, the challenge is recharging then effectively. The ones that can...

So I want 240v smart charger on hook up and solar panels when off grid but when the smart charger is connected to the battery but not on,it will light up by drawing power from the battery how do I stop it

Looking for inspiration - please share your interior layout

That is absolutely class. I’m so new to all this I had no idea this existed. I got a projector solution but it’s a faff to sort out. Where do you get the power from to it out of interest? Does it work OK off grid?
