It was failing to charge the battery properly when driving - weirdly it worked fine when idling! Van is ex RAC so no doubt it's had a harder life than usual. Luckily the replacement was covered under my RAC warranty.

I got a highline with less miles, higher spec in general for less than the local dealer wanted for the ex-RAC van. These vans have been worked hard, are also T32 which means changing suspension etc. So it's not worth bothering with them IMHO unless the price is right.

...thanks for the reply When I drove it home and the light was off, the start stop works fine. Then when the warning light pops up, it says Error Start Stop on the dash. I can’t see any history of the battery being replaced, have a full history of the vehicle as is an ex RAC so must be original.
