I've not started been busy with other things lately  I started sound deadening last week so back to looking for electrics options. Lithium seams like the best option but to be fair I'm most likely to be on Hook up most of the time. so not spending the extra may not be justified.
I'm...
So my factory fit LB is now 7 years old and had another hard winter with van in storage. Was struggling last year so suspect it's on its last legs now.
Been looking at replacing with a lithium but under seat placement restricts size. Also would need to upgrade B2B (plus add inverter). All...
I’m wanting to upgrade my power set up in my camper.
I’m wanting to be able to run for at least a week offgrid.
Offgrid I would run my fridge, and tv for a couple hours at night. The water pump occasionally and the diesel heater very occasionally.
I’m in the process of buying a 2000w inverter...
I think in that scenario (regular travel to sub zero climates) then they'd recommend their extreme range.
Essentially instead of offering a heated battery they've made one that doesn't require a heater.
They have addressed the sub zero charging option as a complete separate battery type, and...
I’ve now read about @Dellmassive’s issue with the ctek & lithium batteries which is making me think about a new charger and rewire so much for a straight swap n drop.
I’m looking to do more offgrid stays, festivals etc, I have a dometic fridge, TV, light, usb and a cpap machine so i’m...
Unless you are really going to stretch the capacity with sustained offgrid use or you just like lots of data then probably not.
That's a good set of kit, though I'd go for the smaller and cooler running Orion XS DC-DC and downrate in software.
If you find you do need one they are reasonably...
Correct, an inverter would use the power from the leisure battery. I'm not too sure regarding the tower without seeing the wiring. I assume its wired into the vans consumer unit so you dont really want to be messing around with that each time you are offgrid. What you have to consider is how...
Hi new to the group and a recent purchase of a T6 Camper-van, any advice/help would be very appreciated.
Camper came converted and fitted with a Sargent EC155 charger for hook up, also has a Victron Orion Tr smart charger isolated 12/12 18. Which im told is a B2B charger which i unfortunately...
Hi People,
I've just bought a new to me van. Its a T6 Euro 5 2016 Highline base van and was converted from new by "Thistle Rose". Its the first Camper van i have ever had so its a steep learning curve. It seems a pretty basic but functional electrical system from what i have researched. The...
Blimey must be seeding the clouds here with sleepy dust as despite child sized bladder managed to wake up at 8:45!
Must say the weather has changed a bit and it's currently dry, dull and overcast however for those thinking of beefing up their offgrid capabilities...
Yep that's a mighty 31.5...
I’m getting solar fitted when my roof gets changed. Hoping to be able to be offgrid for at least a couple of days at a time, we don’t have an inverter fitted so should easily be manageable.
It's a neat idea and common on solar chargers as they are often used as the single controller in remote offgrid locations so it makes sense to include it.
They also tend to run at relatively modest current where adding the feature is quite cheap.
If you want to do the same in a larger battery...
I'm thinking of trying this one and see how I get on.......
Conventional algorithm
low voltage disconnect: 11.1V
Automatic load reconnect voltage: 13.1V
Hello newbie here had my t6 for a couple of years and have used my webasto heater a couple of times only on electric hook up, tried to use it offgrid and can’t seem to get it started. When I try to turn it on on the smart control it doesn’t turn on and seems to have no power am I missing...
Same usage as me and mine will run indefinitely in summer even with only overcast daylight (105ah Fogstar Drift battery and 200w panel). Worst case in winter with little/no solar and a couple of hours heater per night I’ll still get 3-4 days off-grid.
Do double check that the wiring and fuses...
I’m going to start buying the equipment I need to upgrade to a kick ass lithium set up that will provide a lot longer offgrid camping.
Thanks to a lot of advice from @Dellmassive I've got a great idea of what to buy now. Also thanks to @Tall_Paul for solar panel advice.
So here is my proposed...
