Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Another redeeming feature seems to be flexible bookings!

    Dometic Fridge door catch.

Thanks for that info, it looks like it would work. I'm reluctant to drill holes in my kitchen cubards or the fridge door. I will have to do something because that stupid pin and holder looks like its about to brake. Thanks

    What Have You Bought Today?

@CAB. Thanks but the problem with a small fridge is that you quickly run out of space - you ought to see the magnet collection large double size fridge freezer at home!

    TallPaul's Caravelle - MTB wagon!

Not the best pic but I'm now, after completely disassembling the pod to make some necessary cuts and adjustments, reassembling for the final time. Just need to drill the fridge and the unit to mount it and make a couple of other small bits to raise the water containers off the rail thumbscrews...

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

It’s the Kombi pod originally, just making some adjustments to fit in some side storage and an additional pull out draw for fridge. Width of bed now at 140- small double work ongoing !!

Kombi seats out Rib seat in ?

Sorry for the delayed reply - that all helps hugely thanks. I think we are likely to go for the fridgepod with no hob or sink if we go down this route but if you do have photos of the interior I'd be interested to see. No rush though - busy saving up for stage 2 of our conversion!

    Powering a Coolbox - 12V or 240V?

We're away for 5 weeks in June and feel the need for a little bit of fridge space over and above the limited capacity of the built in Domestic CRX50. We've had a little Halfords 14L / 40W coolbox for years which should fit the bill but I'm wondering what's the best way to power it when on EHU...

    Camping in France

A lot of sites we used offered fridge rental and they were full size domestic fridges. We never bothered with one but they were running on 6amp EHU. We're not big EHU users but never had any issues boiling a kettle and running a small air fryer. Sites were a mix of euro blue plug and two pin...

Kombi seats out Rib seat in ?

No worries on the reply, it’s good to share detail if it helps. I’ve just been on the Banwy site and to be honest the drawings have a load of dimensions but they don’t show the ‘bed down’ length unfortunately. On the Bodans web site there’s a bit of text that says “The 112cm and 120cm RIB bed...

    What Have You Bought Today?

Loving the Hope Cove one! For such a small place it's amazing how many people have a connection with it.

Fridges & Cold Beer -- How I Done It --

Thanks roadtripper, the van is a Kombi, 73 Plate, built in Jan 23. Actually there are two, one in the front of the dash and the other to the left of the gear stick. Do you know which one will be wired to the leisure battery? I guess that would be a better location for the fridge which will...

Battery Monitoring -- How I Done It --

Do the negatives from the devices go straight to the battery negative currently? And is there a connection from battery negative to chassis ground? You can either connect the negatives directly to the M10 shunt system terminal, or (if the system terminal on the shunt connects to chassis...

I don’t suppose you have any off cuts in a metallic red colour I could buy? I would like replace my orange grill trim with red.

    My First Build.......

Thanks for all the feedback folks, we are just back from a blustery trip to Gairloch ! My setup seems to cause a lot of interest from other campers, as every time we have been out in Sunny we get a load of folk coming over to ask "can I pet your dogs & where did you get that ?" one guy who...

Portable power station or leisure battery or both?

What would you do? I've bought a 2017 T6 kombi which already has insulation, led ceiling lights and a camp site hookup/fuses. Which is great if I'm going to camp sites with hook up, but I'm planning on going to festivals without any power with one of my children this summer and possible four...

    New member - downsized!

Hello all, New member in your forum! Thank you for having me! We have just shaken hands on the purchase of a T6 (T6.1 maybe?) camper van. The van is a 23 plate, which has been professionally converted in Worksop, Notts - though we looked at it, and bought it, near home in...

Alpicool Battery Bay - P18 review

So on the test I have 2 2litre milk bottles in the fridge, a carton of juice and one of my normal thermometers (they were handy from the weekly shopping!) The documented battery charge time from empty is 8 hours and that seems about right. The fridge has been running on internal battery now...

Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Actually, Paul, on the subject of steep prices, I have an embarrassing admission to make... I've just rearranged a 2-night trip to a small, coastal campsite in Rhiw, Wales. Originally booked for last June, the trip got postponed twice - once due to an amber thunderstorm warning and a second...

    My Proposed Wiring

Get used to costs spiraling! Yeah I was going to suggest an isolator switch, some don't bother and just pull a fuse but it's nice to be able to cut all power in your system quickly. You'd mount it after the main battery fuse - make sure the main battery fuse is as close to the terminal...
