maybe its the demand is too great, we all rave about them and love them but they have dropped the ball on quality to keep up with demand. I am going to take my windows apart. just made new panels, carpeted etc and found that one of the rear panels had water stains down the back and the passenger...
That's one of the best guides IV seen on the forum and a great idea ! Do you have any links to the washers and bolts used or a list of sizes used ,. Cheers
Hi, great advice, write up and pictures, exactly what this forum is about. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Can I ask what awning rail that is and where you purchased it.
No problem here with water ingress because the rail bolts on the Jerba pop top are outside the roof canvas and can’t leak into the van. The rails/track I used are the Karitek ones.
Thanks for that! I like the look of that one, tucks away nicely as well. Will see if it can be delivered in time.... although still worried about fitting myself in case it leaks. I'm not DIY minded in any way... I superglue everything and hope for the best
Is the leaking window the sliding part or is it a solid glass window. If its a sliding window its well recorded on here as to the potential issues and various solutions. Personally i've found opening the window and using either a pipe cleaner or thin rag wiping around the seal as much as...
By the way, @Dellmassive , I was dubious about sticking the great T6 forum sticker you sent me on the windscreen cos the blades hit it but it’s been there for months and still going strong!
Hi all.
Any thoughts on the following -
My T6 van is less than a year old. It was a demonstrator.
I’ve fitted a Thule roof rack system for carrying items on the roof. In the Thule instructions it says to use silicone on the bolts that hold the feet onto the roof.
I didn’t bother with silicone...
I just did mine today. I already had the roof rails and had previously used the no leak method posted on here to attach the rails. So all I needed to do was remove the rails, remove the threaded bar, place the awning rail in situ with the original rubber washers placed below it and then bolt it...
Morning all - looking for help please?
Issue - I have a leak on my T6 ever since I fitted some Roofbars that I got from VanStyle: Satin Black Aluminium Roof Rail Bars - VW T5 T6 03 SWB LWB - Vanstyle
I can see the fix in the thread but as I am slightly thick, I have some questions to clarify...
Think I eventually figured it out myself, though its been some time. Just looked and they go flat side up, from there the profile will dictate what goes at the front / back. Hope that helps and don't forget to put some silicon to seal the bolt form leaking.
Hi
That’s about right all round. I’m not very practical so it may have just be me! But I found it a real trial and error process, getting the nylon nuts in place is easier said than done, torquing them a bit without threaded bolt moving a challenge, then the issue of getting nut in housing of...
I noticed the other weekend in the heavy rain that our bedding was wet through an on a closer look it was dripping in the nearside back corner and the gutter was full of rain.
when we got home i took the units out and the side panel to the van and the two sections of head lining out were they...
The nuts are held captive internally in the van. If you remove your roof lining at the appropriate place you should be able to see them. I took a picture of one and posted it in another thread a while back

Hi mate
Omtec are good, OEM quality. Got mine from justkampers.
You’ll have to remove the black tracks in the Caravelle roof gutters first but it’s easy they’re just bolted in.
When you fit don’t use the supplied bolts but instead use the threaded bar technique described on a thread on this...
Mines 2016 LWB T6 rear hatch offside pillar is soaking is this also because of the high level brake light? NS is fine parked level front down hill ! Rubbers seems fine!
Along with NS C post drenched seem to remember something about a leak! Thru roofbolts???
