    Are EVs the way forward?

Yes, I have. Mining has some very unpleasant human rights records, and we have to consider the scale. 130,000 tonnes of Lithium (2022 data) vs 2.6 billion tonnes of iron ore for steel, and 4.4 billion tonnes of oil. Good look with avoiding Chinese components - you will need to discard your...

Are DIY Paint touch-ups any good?

...the scratch, but for stone chips I use a dremmel to remove as much as the rust without making the damaged area larger then I use: NO NONSENSE ZINC GALVANISING SPRAY Just shake up then spray some into a old lid (jam jar, whatever...) then use an artists fine tipped brush to touch up. Layer up...

    VW closes T6.1 order book today (3/3/23) !!!! - T7 Next? or T8?

...up off the ramp in a bucket after 15 years or less. The last custom and transit have a 7 year corrosion guarantee so hopefully the newer will be zinc dipped too. Plus the overall body shape will be the same unless the change the outer shell but that's more expense . Its most likely front...

    Are EVs the way forward?

For reasons that I don't understand, China gets a free pass from the rest of the world on certain things, like forgetting to notify the WHO about a pandemic that started there until it had already spread globally, opening 2 new coal power stations every week, Human Rights abuses, to name a few...

Silly question about Fitting new brake disks

...VW mechanic may know the answer to my question. I just got all new VW original discs to fit to my T6.1 but they have come with what looks a Matt zinc finish over the faces along with the labels rather than shiny faces, so my question is does this have to be removed prior to fitting and if so...

T6 zinc inclusion paintwork defect... VW taking no responsibility!

...due to a manufacturing fault. I sent the report back to VW, who have again stated that it won't be covered under warranty, despite it being a zinc inclusion, which they admit. I was offered a paltry £200 as a goodwill gesture! To say that I'm pretty annoyed at VW's slopey shoulders and...

Double Seat Bolt holes in the floor!

https://www.vanstyle.co.uk/van/zinc-plated-lashing-ring-plastic-surround-anchor-p-7826.html A long these lines through the carpet, but switch out for an m10. You can get chunky lashing points made for an m10 bolt. Would be nice to have it sit flush in that small tray though.

Repairing of rusty patches forming on sliding door paintwork

...too had the same NEGATIVE response from the same Cleckheaton Van Centre, the same van centre from where I purchased said van from in 2016 shelling out £36K. Within 20seconds of viewing " Zinc Inclusion" and not covered by the 12 year corrosion warranty. I read that you addressed the issue...

    Brake caliper painting

If you want a 100% durable finish get them zinc metal sprayed, obviously only one colour and they would need to be stripped.

    Are EVs the way forward?

I’m not sure anyone stands out as an EV supporter but we can see they have their purposes as part of the answer. Likewise I could say have any of the I've supporters considered the damage caused at drilling sites and that oil sales support Putins war (isn’t that why the West stopped buying it...

    Dan’s Fishing Van

...rust marks of the lower wishbones, and coat them with my go to hammerite smooth one coat in black and silver. Brakes were sorted out with a zinc galv spray on the disks, and foliatec stratos silver for the calipers. Used these in the past with good results tbh. Should keep them looking good...

It's zinc inclusion, factory process causes it.

Rust blisters and is a ceramic coating worth it?

Are you sure they are rust blisters and not zinc inclusion? have you got any pictures?

Rust blisters and is a ceramic coating worth it?

That looks like zinc inclusion to me. I had a Passat that suffered from this. It was a warranty job.

    The Touch Up Paint Factory

I'd be concerned about the pen tip drying up or getting damaged. I'd go for the pot with brushes. Like @dubber36 says, the colour is key. As an aside, for those of us with reflex silver, I've found Zinc Primer from Screwfix is an excellent filler and colour match for deeper damage.
