You must have had a paypal account to activate the subscription. It's a subscription you have to cancel as you set it up. If you have physically closed down your paypal account then it won't renew but if you still have a paypal account but just don't use it then it will renew automatically. I...

What details do you mean - your son’s PayPal details? If so, you need to either log out of his PayPal account and/or clear your web browser cache / history.

Have you seen this? Where did you get the SMS from? Sounds genuine the way they have contacted you but scammers take money via PayPal into a bank account that is overseas normally.
