Don’t forget there can be a number of reasons the stop start doesn’t work (temporarily), a/c switched on, low voltage in the starter battery, once the various parameters are met it will kick in. Personally I switch it off when I start a drive as I don’t like it

I also have a factory fit battery under passenger seat, rang vw they didn't seem too sure what it was for, brother in law thought maybe something to do with stop/start. It would be nice to know if we could use this as an auxiliary battery

17 plate T6. It does have start stop. Van has started fine every day since I purchased it a year ago.

What year and generation is your van (T6 and T6.1 have different electrics) Do you have start/stop? Any difficulty starting?

Oh and also sometimes it has problems with the start/stop system. Occasionally it says something like "error start stop" and then it would not work. Even though that does not really bother me since I've always turned start stop anyway.

I think it means the SS defaults to "off".
